Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development.
  • 7 years of experience with frontend development, including JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, Kotlin, etc.
  • 5 years of experience with design and architecture; and testing/launching software products.
  • Experience with front-end frameworks, full-stack development, or API development.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
  • 3 years of experience working in a structured organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
  • Experience in applied Machine Learning (e.g., computer vision, transformers, generative AI, LLM).

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $262,000-$365,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
  • Define and drive the technical goals and strategy for new product features and user experiences on the Google Drive front-end across web and mobile platforms.
  • Lead the design and architecture of user-facing features. Set technical standards, review feature designs, and ensure the high quality and rapid delivery of the team's product output.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship, fostering a culture of technical excellence and changing innovation.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers, UX Designers, and cross-functional teams to shape the product roadmap and translate user needs into technical solutions.
  • Provide direct support and lead by example.
