Job description

Lawyers on Demand, a Consilio Company, is urgently seeking a contract eBilling and Legal Spend Manager to support one of our prestigious corporate clients.


Start: ASAP

Duration: through December 31st, 2026 (potential to extend)

Pay Rate: negotiable, likely starting around $50/hour

Location: Remote in the United States


Candidates must be able to start immediately if offer accepted.


Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Work closely with the Sr. Manager, Outside Counsel Spend & Strategy to enhance and oversee the Outside Counsel spend and management program for Legal.
  • Ensure operational excellence and an AI-native approach to all processes related to legal e-billing and OC management, and perform day-to-day tasks regarding the same.
  • Assist in implementing our OC spend strategy, including reviewing and benchmarking law fi rm billing rates and fee structures against industry standards and peer companies.
  • Administer and maintain legal e-billing system, law fi rm billing guidelines, law fi rm engagement letter review, and conflicts of interest.
  • Manage and enhance processes related to legal vendor/contractor onboarding.
  • Provide training and support to Legal on all aspects of OC oversight and billing-related processes and systems. Respond to routine inquiries from OC.
  • Own and drive the monthly accruals process for Legal, including coordinating inputs, ensuring accuracy and timeliness, and serving as the primary day-to-day relationship manager with FP&A.
  • Develop strong, positive relationships with cross-functional partners (FP&A, Sourcing, EAA) to enhance program effectiveness.


Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with at least 3 years of OC management experience at an in-house legal practice – preferably at a high growth technology company.
  • Utilizes generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
  • Passion for all things operations related, with the ability to develop, implement, and enhance programs and processes.
  • Proven experience in project managing small and large-scale projects from inception to execution.
  • Demonstrated experience managing legal accruals, forecasting inputs, and month-end financial processes in close partnership with FP&A.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and/or Google Sheets, including formulas, data manipulation, reconciliation, and building practical trackers and analyses.
  • Law firm management and legal e-billing experience
  • Strong written and oral communication skills. Ruthless attention to detail. Extremely well organized.
  • Ability to execute under pressure and within tight timelines while juggling multiple projects.
  • Willingness to roll up sleeves (no job too big, no job too small). 
  • Familiarity with Brightflag or other comparable legal e-billing system.
  • Experience with databases (e.g. Snowflake), SQL querying, and dashboard building tools (Looker, etc.)
  • Proficiency with Zip, Ironclad, Ivo, Asana, Confluence, DocuSign, Google Workspace, Jira, Lucidchart, Office 365, and Slack
