Location: Temple Terrace, FL Description: Our client is currently seeking a OSP Engineer - II in Temple Terrace, FL
You know a lot about outside plant engineering practices. You enjoy analyzing problems and having the autonomy to select and implement the right solutions. While you work well independently, you are also a great team player and enjoy leading colleagues and coordinating efforts to ensure best outcomes. No stranger to a fast-paced environment, you manage multiple assignments and competing priorities while staying focused on important deadlines. As a strong communicator, you can quickly build relationships with a diverse range of people and explain complex technical issues in a way that everyone can understand.
This job will have the following responsibilities:
  • Fiber Plant Design
  • Services turn up
  • Maintain fiber -operational experience monitoring fiber.
  • Find lowest cost routes/designing or rearranging
  • Site walks and site surveys in the field
  • Visit sites to ensure fiber routes work
  • Manage General Contractors

Qualifications & Requirements:
MUST HAVE SKILLS:
  • Sound OSP/ISP engineering experience deploying fiber optic networks - preferably in the local area
  • Strong computer Skills - Word, Excel, Visio, AutoCAD, Micro station, 3GIS, ArcGIS, Google Earth
  • Knowledge of right-of-way, property rights, and permits acquisition
  • Experience coordinating project activities with contractors, developers, municipalities and consultants
DESIRED SKILLS:
  • Knowledge of engineering/design and review, extensive construction and field knowledge, working knowledge with local area jurisdictions and permitting requirements/processes.
  • Telecom Network Operations experience - splicing, testing, repair and maintenance of large count fiber optic cables
  • Experience preparing detailed cost analysis, project specifications, spend forecasts, route mapping, requisitions, and business justifications

  • EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in engineering, or four plus years of work experience.
