Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience with data center infrastructure (e.g. data center power and cooling systems, machine learning hardware).
  • Experience with SQL scripting and data analytics.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • 7 years of experience in technical program management, with a focus on data center infrastructure (power and cooling systems), ML hardware, data management systems.
  • 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience influencing and leading cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication, and strong presentation skills, capable of tailoring communication to different audiences.
  • Excellent investigative, problem-solving, organizational, and strategic thinking skills.

Google's Data Center Fleet Efficiency team is seeking an experienced Technical Program Manager to drive high-impact initiatives that optimize our extensive data center operations. In this role, you will lead large-scale, complex technical programs from inception to completion, utilizing strong technical judgment to guide architectural decisions, mitigate risks, and navigate ambiguous requirements. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional partners including Engineering, Product Management, UX, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) to define program scopes and align multiple organizations to achieve strategic goals.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, manage, and deliver large-scale, complex technical programs from initiation through completion, often starting with ambiguous requirements.
  • Define program scope, objectives, key results, and deliverables in partnership with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Product Management, UX, and SRE.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive program plans, schedules, risk registers, and resource forecasts.
  • Drive alignment and foster collaboration across multiple teams and organizations, influencing without direct authority to achieve program goals.
  • Communicate program status, progress, risks, and key metrics clearly and concisely to stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership, through presentations, reports, and other means.
