What is a Google contractor?

A Google Contractor is a temporary worker employed by a third-party staffing agency to perform specific tasks or projects for Google. Contractors work alongside full-time employees but typically do not receive the same benefits or job security. These roles can range from technical positions like software engineering to administrative or marketing support. Contracts are usually for a fixed duration, often six months to two years, with the possibility of extension.

What is the typical work environment and team structure like for Google contractors?

Google Contractors usually work alongside full-time Googlers in dynamic, project-based teams that encourage innovation and collaboration. You might participate in both virtual and in-person meetings, using Google's advanced digital tools to communicate and manage tasks. Contractors often have clearly defined responsibilities and typically report to a Google team lead or manager, with frequent opportunities for cross-functional collaboration. While contractors may not have access to all the benefits of full-time employees, the work environment is diverse and supportive, providing valuable networking and hands-on experience at a leading tech company.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Google contractor position, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Google Contractor, you typically need expertise in your specific professional field (such as software engineering, project management, or digital marketing), a relevant educational background, and prior experience in similar roles. Familiarity with Google's proprietary tools (like Google Workspace, internal project management platforms, or code repositories) and industry certifications (where applicable, such as PMP or relevant technical certificates) are often expected. Strong communication, adaptability, and teamwork skills set outstanding contractors apart, as these support collaboration in cross-functional and diverse teams. These competencies ensure that contractors can efficiently integrate, contribute to high standards, and deliver value in Google's fast-paced, innovative environment.

Job description

Experience: 10 Years Minimum

ABOUT THE COMPANY

We are a fast-growing U.S.-based digital marketing agency specializing in lead generation systems for local service businesses — medical spas, wellness spas, massage businesses, beauty clinics, and multi-location local brands across the United States.

We are looking for a senior-level operator who can solve difficult advertising problems, build scalable systems, and elevate the performance of our entire ads operation.

WHAT WE OFFER.

– $90,000 – $100,000 annually — commensurate with experience

– 1099 independent contractor engagement — flexible, performance-driven

– Direct influence over advertising strategy and internal operations

– Opportunity to build and own SOPs used across the entire team

– Work with a focused niche — med spa and wellness vertical specialists

– Collaborative team environment with room to lead

ROLE OVERVIEW

This is a senior individual contributor and operational leadership role. You will own high-level strategy, recover complex accounts, build the systems our team runs on, and mentor junior specialists

RESPONSIBILITIES

1 — High-Level Advertising Strategy

– Own Google Ads and Meta Ads strategy across client accounts

– Improve campaign quality, account stability, and long-term performance

– Identify and execute scaling opportunities for local service businesses

– Reduce wasted spend and eliminate low-quality lead volume

2 — Complex Account Recovery & Optimization

You will be the go-to resource for difficult account situations, including:

– High CPL issues and performance drops

– Spam lead problems and poor lead quality

– Meta learning phase instability

– Google Ads conversion tracking failures

– Multi-location campaign complexity

– High-budget account instability and scaling failures

3 — SOP & System Development

Build the operational backbone our internal teams run on:

– Campaign launch and account audit SOPs

– Scaling procedures and quality control systems

– Spam lead handling and CRM / offline conversion workflows

– Landing page optimization standards

– Retargeting structures and performance review frameworks

4 — Team Leadership & Training

– Mentor and support junior ads specialists and account managers

– Conduct account reviews and performance audits

– Improve operational efficiency and team capacity

– Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement

REQUIREMENTS

Required

– Minimum 10 years of paid advertising experience — Google Ads and Meta Ads

– English fluency required — written and verbal, for internal team collaboration and documentation

– Proven experience in U.S. med spa, wellness, or local service industries

– Demonstrated track record of account recovery and performance improvement

– Deep understanding of lead generation systems and local campaign strategy

– Experience managing high-budget campaigns and conversion tracking integrations

Strongly Preferred

– Go High Level (GHL) experience

– Offline conversion tracking and call tracking systems

– Landing page optimization and A/B testing

– AI-driven optimization tools and automation workflows

– Multi-location campaign management

– Team training and SOP development experience

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

This role is evaluated differently from a standard ads role. Here is what we actually care about:

We do NOT measure success by

  • ROAS, CPC, or Lead Volume alone
  • Vanity metrics
  • High account volume alone

We DO measure success by

  • Better lead quality
  • Reduced client attrition
  • Improved account stability
  • Improved operational systems
  • Recovery of struggling accounts
  • Better scalability across ops

IDEAL CANDIDATE

You are the right fit if you:

– Have 10+ years of hands-on paid ads experience and can back it up with results

– Think in systems — you build processes, not just campaigns

– Thrive in a niche vertical and understand what drives local service buyers

– Want to leave a real operational footprint — not just manage accounts

HOW TO APPLY

Submit your resume and a brief note on your most impactful account recovery or system-building project through Indeed. Qualified candidates will be contacted within 3 business days for a screening call.

Please include your Google Ads and Meta Ads account experience, industries worked in, and any tools or platforms you use regularly.
