What is a Google contract?

A Google contract typically refers to a role or position where an individual works for Google on a temporary or project-based basis through a third-party staffing agency, rather than as a direct, permanent employee. Contractors may work alongside full-time Googlers and contribute to various projects, but they often have different benefits, pay structures, and job security. These roles can be a good way to gain experience at Google and may sometimes lead to permanent positions.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Google contract manager?

To thrive as a Google Contract Manager, you need a strong understanding of contract law, negotiation, and risk management, often supported by a degree in business, law, or a related field. Familiarity with contract management software, Google Workspace, and legal research tools is typically required. Exceptional attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills help you navigate complex agreements and collaborate with diverse teams. These skills ensure effective contract execution, minimize legal risks, and support Google's business objectives.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals working on a Google contract, and how can they be effectively managed?

Professionals working on a Google contract often navigate fast-paced environments and high expectations for innovation and collaboration. One common challenge is adapting quickly to changing project requirements and priorities, as Google projects tend to evolve rapidly. Job description

Job Overview

MVR Digital is hiring a Senior Paid Search Strategist to own Google strategy and execution for a portfolio of premium and luxury DTC brands. This is a hands-on role. You will be in Google Ads daily and you will also set the strategy and defend it on a client call.

About the Company

MVR Digital is a performance marketing agency with hubs in NYC, Chicago, and Denver, working with premium and luxury DTC and e-commerce brands to grow profitably online. Adweek named us one of the Fastest Growing Agencies. We work across Meta, Google, TikTok, and Connected TV, plus email, creative, and landing pages. The team is fully remote, direct, and focused on results.

Our Values

  • Act Like an Owner
  • Clarity over Complexity
  • Serve Clients' Best Interest
  • We Win Together, We Lose Together
  • Data-Informed, Human-Led

What You Will Do

  • Own Google strategy and daily execution across Search, Shopping, Performance Max, and YouTube
  • Manage $100K+ per month in Google spend against ROAS, CPA, and MER targets
  • Own Merchant Center and feed health end to end. Diagnose disapprovals, feed gaps, and Shopify sync issues yourself
  • Structure PMax deliberately: asset groups, exclusions, signal inputs, and a clear read on what is working inside it
  • Hold a real position on branded spend and incrementality, and walk a client through it
  • Support Meta, TikTok, and other channels where they affect your accounts, and hold a point of view on cross-channel allocation
  • Lead the paid search portion of client calls. Explain performance clearly, bring a recommendation, push back when a request will not serve the client
  • Mentor junior buyers and act as the QA gate for paid search before it goes live

What We Are Looking For

  • 4+ years hands-on Google Ads, agency or high-growth brand side
  • Deep Search, Shopping, and Performance Max expertise, plus Merchant Center and feed troubleshooting
  • Personally owned $100K+ monthly Google budgets with documented efficiency gains
  • DTC or e-commerce ownership. Premium or luxury AOV experience is a strong differentiator
  • Working Meta knowledge. Not depth, but enough to speak to it credibly
  • GA4, Looker Studio, and attribution fluency
  • Fluent, confident English and strong client communication. This role is client-facing
  • Comfortable across multiple accounts in a fast-moving remote environment

Perks and Benefits

  • Paid time off
  • Paid company holidays
  • Flexible Fridays
  • Remote first collaboration
  • Quarterly performance bonus potential

Role Details

  • Full time, contract
  • Location: remote
