Communications and Creative Director

This position may be filled as a full-time, part-time, or freelance/contract role, depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate and the ministry's needs.

Summary

The Communications & Creative Director advances the mission of Northshore by leading the church's visual storytelling and communication strategies. This role develops engaging content across print, digital, video, web, and social media platforms to effectively communicate the vision, ministries, and life of the church. Working collaboratively with ministry leaders, the Communications & Creative Director ensures branding and messaging are clear, compelling, and aligned with the church's mission. This position also oversees the church website, mobile app, digital communications, and creative volunteers while supporting worship services and special events through high-quality media and production.

Responsibilities

  • Design graphic content for a wide range of ministry initiatives, including weekend worship services, sermon series, social media, ministry events, the website, and the church app.
  • Partner with ministry leaders to effectively communicate through graphic design, video, photography, web, and digital media.
  • Champion excellence in church branding, visual identity, and communications across all ministries.
  • Film, edit, and produce videos that support worship arts, ministry initiatives, and church-wide communication.
  • Collaborate with the production team to create sermon series bumper videos that reinforce the vision and theme of each message.
  • Lead the Communications Team, providing oversight for creative projects and communication strategies.
  • Oversee the church website and mobile app as effective tools for ministry, engagement, and outreach.
  • Lead and coordinate the photography team to capture and communicate the life and ministry of the church.
  • Manage partnerships and digital communication platforms, including Click Nonprofit, Google Business Profile, Google Ads, Google Ad Grants, SEO, and website optimization.
  • Plan, create, and oversee church-wide communications, including weekly and monthly email campaigns.
  • Participate in production team meetings and support the Worship Arts and Production teams during Sunday services and special events.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Graphic Design, Marketing, Media Production, Digital Communications, or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two or more years of experience in communications, graphic design, marketing, media production, or a related creative field.
  • Experience creating and managing content across print, digital, web, video, email, and social media platforms.
  • Experience leading projects, coordinating volunteers, or supervising a creative team is preferred.
