Job description

General Summary: The Cashier maximizes store profitability through accurate register operation, best in class customer service, and efficient merchandising. This role helps us to build skills and change lives in each of our communities.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Provide best in class service by greeting customers, answering questions and inviting them to return
  • Process transactions accurately, professionally, and efficiently
  • Actively promotes the Round-Up program, informing all customers at each transaction how their contribution helps build skills and change lives in our community
  • Keep the sales floor fresh and full, by quickly and efficiently merchandising and salvaging items
  • Continuously picks up items, returns shopping carts/baskets and places merchandise in appropriate area
  • Maintain neat, clean and safe environment by following established 5S principles and safety guidelines
  • Monitors the fitting rooms, returning items to floor, reporting known theft to Manager or AP Agent
  • Consistently interacting with co-workers, shoppers, and donors in a professional & pleasant manner
  • Assist Asset Protection Agents, if 18 or older, may be asked to act as witness for shoplifting detentions
  • Works the process by supporting production, rotation and 1 touch optimization
  • Consistently perform all duties within the framework of our Core Values

Requirements
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
  • Ability to ring sales on a cash register and use basic math to count money.
  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills
