MAINTENANCE / JANITORIAL ASSISTANT
Pay: $19.00-$22.50 per hour

The Opportunity
We are seeking a Maintenance / Janitorial Assistant to support general building maintenance, grounds keeping, preventative maintenance, equipment care, and janitorial assignments at assigned facilities.
This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who is dependable, safety-minded, adaptable, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
What You'll Do
  • Assist with maintenance and repair of equipment and structures, including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting, mechanical maintenance, roofing, and related work.
  • Assist with maintenance of property grounds, including landscaping, fencing, and irrigation systems.
  • Maintain and organize department equipment and tools.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and make minor repairs at the main facility and satellite locations.
  • Service and maintain compactors, balers, tippers, material-handling equipment, and power tools.
  • Complete work orders and preventative maintenance paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Perform janitorial duties and related assignments as needed.
  • Work with clients assigned for vocational services when requested.

What You'll Bring
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid California Class C driver's license.
  • One year of industrial maintenance experience, or equivalent.
  • Basic math ability and familiarity with hand and power tools.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work from written orders, simple drawings, and verbal instructions with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures, report hazards promptly, and maintain satisfactory attendance.

Preferred Qualifications
  • One year of general maintenance technical training.
  • Basic skills in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry/framing, and roof repair.
  • Familiarity with cleaning products, equipment, procedures, material-handling techniques, and proper lifting procedures.
The Work Environment
Work is approximately 50% indoors and 50% outdoors, with exposure to changing weather conditions. The position may involve dust, dirt, fumes, airborne particles, cleaning products, and other workplace hazards associated with maintenance and equipment operation. The role may require use of ladders or mechanical lifts and work in small or confined spaces.
The position regularly involves walking and lifting/carrying items up to 25 pounds, with occasional lifting up to 50 pounds. Heavier items are moved with assistance or proper material-handling equipment.
