POSITION EXPECTATIONS
Position Expectations  

This position is responsible for the upkeep of the Goodwill retail store by ensuring its overall cleanliness and that high traffic and touchpoint areas are cleaned and sanitized in accordance with company standards. 

Responsibilities 

  • Maintains the building and its equipment through general cleaning ensuring clean and sanitized conditions.   
  • Sweeps and mops floors, with clean equipment, throughout the day. 
  • Cleans and sanitize restrooms, breakrooms, dressing rooms, checkout/jewelry counters and other high touchpoint areas throughout the building. 
  • Restocks disposables i.e., soap, tissue, sanitizer. 
  • Cleans and sanitize shopping carts once a week. 
  • Wipes all mirrors, windows, and sanitizes checkout counter sneeze guards. 
  • Maintains outer premises by cleaning entrances, walking outside picking up and disposing of any debris. 
  • Applies cleaning/sanitizing chemicals according to established safety procedures. 
  • Removes extraneous dirt/markings from interior and exterior of building, i.e., walls, doors, etc. 
  • Cleans spills with appropriate, clean equipment. 
  • Maintains cleaning supplies in stock by communicating with management. 
  • Completes tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision. 
  • Assists in any other projects as determined by management. 
  • Takes responsibility for custodial duties such as cleaning the restrooms & break room, sweeping, mopping & trash removal.  

Environmental Factors 
Duties will be conducted at the retail store, warehouse, or other assigned Goodwill locations where no cooling or heating will be available. Exposure to extreme heat, cold, dust, animal hair and sometimes humidity.

Physical Factors

  • Able to lift, carry, push, and pull a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Prolonged standing, walking, reaching, stooping, lifting, pulling, bending, kneeling.

Education, Experience, and Requirements

  • High school/ GED completion preferred.
  • Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances. 
  • Knowledge of safe use and disposal of chemical liquids and other components. 
  • Proven reliability in meeting attendance expectations.
  • Must be able to continuously perform repetitive work, at a set pace. 
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills with excellent communication skills.  
  • Bilingual a plus.  
  • Exhibits a high level of integrity and business ethics.  
  • Exhibits a high level of adaptability and flexibility.
