As a BBQ Manager, you help lead the restaurant's daily counter-service operation and serve as a visible ambassador of Goode Company BBQ hospitality. You create exceptional guest experiences, coach team members, and support business results while protecting the quality, consistency, and authenticity of every plate. You are expected to actively contribute to growing our customer base by building and developing relationships with guests and team members, while partnering with vendors, community partners, local businesses, and Home Office teams.

Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Hospitality
  • Champion Goode Company's mission, values, and culture in every aspect of the operation.
  • Deliver welcoming, efficient counter-service hospitality and ensure every guest receives an outstanding experience.
  • Lead shifts with integrity, ownership, accountability, and professionalism.
  • Build trusting relationships with guests and team members and communicate effectively with internal partners.
  • Support a welcoming environment that anticipates guest needs and exceeds expectations.
Customer Growth & Relationship Building
  • Grow our customer base by fostering meaningful relationships with guests, team members, vendors, community partners, and local businesses.
  • Represent Goode Company BBQ positively in the local community and support approved promotions, events, and partnerships.
  • Share guest feedback and relationship opportunities with the General Manager and relevant Home Office partners.
Counter-Service & BBQ Operations
  • Lead assigned shifts and ensure fast, accurate, and friendly service through the ordering line, dining room, pickup area, and patio.
  • Monitor line flow, wait times, order accuracy, portioning, packaging, and the presentation of BBQ plates and menu items.
  • Maintain hands-on knowledge of pit, prep, line, cashier, expo, dining room, and closing procedures so you can effectively run every area of the restaurant.
  • Ensure BBQ products are prepared, held, sliced, portioned, and served according to Goode Company standards.
  • Investigate and resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally, escalating when appropriate.
  • Support menu launches, seasonal features, promotions, catering orders, and operational initiatives.
Financial Leadership
  • Support the General Manager and Assistant General Manager in managing labor, sales, food cost, and operating expenses.
  • Identify opportunities to improve sales, guest loyalty, speed of service, and the overall customer experience.
  • Complete required shift, sales, labor, inventory, and operational reporting accurately.
Food Safety & Facility Management
  • Follow Company food safety, sanitation, allergen awareness, and workplace safety standards.
  • Monitor compliance with health, safety, and fire regulations during assigned shifts.
  • Ensure facilities, equipment, service areas, dining areas, and restrooms are clean, safe, and operating efficiently.
Talent Development
  • Help recruit, onboard, train, coach, and retain exceptional team members.
  • Provide regular feedback and support team member development across all counter-service and kitchen positions.
  • Foster accountability, teamwork, continuous learning, and professional growth.
  • Maintain appropriate staffing and communicate scheduling or performance concerns to leadership.

QualificationsQualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; hospitality, restaurant management, or business education preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of recent counter-service or restaurant supervisory or management experience.
  • Demonstrated success leading counter-service teams and delivering exceptional hospitality in a high-volume environment.
  • Working knowledge of BBQ restaurant operations, including pit, prep, line, cashier, expo, food quality, portioning, and service standards.
  • Experience coaching team members and supporting sales, labor, food cost, inventory, or guest service goals.
  • Strong communication, organization, judgment, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
