As an Assistant Store Team Leader, you’re pawsitively passionate about people and their pets. You will support the Store Team Leader in running the day-to-day operations of the store, leading the team by example, and delivering exceptional, neighborly service at every opportunity. Whether you’re welcoming a new puppy, jumping in to help a team member find the right solution for a pet parent, or partnering on ways to improve store performance, you play a key role in creating a fun, engaging, and pet-centric environment where both pets and people thrive.

What You’ll Do

  • Support and lead your team by example, delivering exceptional, neighborly service
  • Jump in to greet neighbors and their pets and create a welcoming in-store experience
  • Assist customers in choosing the best products for their pets’ needs
  • Support store performance including sales, engagement, and overall productivity
  • Help analyze results and partner with leadership on plans to improve performance
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, and developing a strong team

Requirements and Responsibilities
  • 2+ years of retail or customer-facing leadership experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred (High School Diploma/GED required)
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar tools
  • Ability to lift up to 65 lbs and perform physical tasks (climbing, bending, kneeling)
  • Ability to operate store equipment as needed
  • Reliable transportation and ability to work flexible schedules
  • Must be 18+ years old and able to meet hiring requirements set by the local franchise owner
  • Must be able to calmy and responsibly deal with unexpected situations
  • This role will be the main leader of the pack in unloading and putting away our weekly delivery, lifting 50 lbs and performing physical tasks for the extended part of the day is a requirement for this position
