Duties and Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities Tutors are required to offer guidance and motivation in specific subject areas in order to promote the academic success of students. Tutors that are students must maintain good academic standing with a 70% or higher Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) rate. This is a Temporary Position that will end at every Fall, Spring, and Summer semester and is contingent upon the availability of TRIO Student Support Services grant funds.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities Promotes different learning strategies to encourage students to study and complete assignments. Explains specific course materials and assists students with assignments. Maintains logs while keeping students' confidentiality.

Works with students in a lab setting. Will be required to attend in-class presentations. Qualifications/Certifications/Licenses/Skills NOTICE: Required Documents To be considered for this position, you are required to upload your high school diploma or unofficial transcript or GED certificate.

Must have no less than 6 hours of Mathematics college-level courses with a minimum grade of B. Preferred: 3.0 GPA in subject area and 3.00 GPA overall. Tutoring experience is preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Tutors must demonstrate some knowledge of tutoring methods and/or teaching principles. Tutors must also show the ability to work with others effectively on a one-to-one and small-group basis. Tutors must demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills.

Additional Information Supervision Exercised N/A Supervision Received Supervised by the Mathematics Tutor Coordinator and Director of Student Support Services. Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch.

Work inside a well-lighted and air-conditioned area most of the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. Safety Required to work safely and follow safety rules.
