Your Impact

The lab technician will assist the lab manager by carrying out day-to-day tasks. This task includes, but is not limited to, preparing chemicals, preventative maintenance, calibration, tracking, documenting, packaging, labeling, and cleaning in accordance with the state compliance standards.

What You'll Do (Personnel Duties, Authority, and Responsibilities)

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other responsibilities and projects may be assigned for the overall benefit of the organization.

  • Process and refine cannabis oil by means of winterization, centrifugation, filtration, and decarboxylation.
  • Capable of making products such as shatter, vape oil, distillate, live resin and more.
  • Accurately weighing materials and recording those weights.
  • Maintaining accurate records.
  • Maintain strict inventory records of all raw materials, supplies and equipment.
  • Maintain inventory by performing conversions, adjustments, and transfers in seed-to-sale tracking systems.
  • Responsible for proper waste disposal according to company and state guidelines.
  • Operates and maintains laboratory equipment used to refine crude oil into post-processed products.
  • Accurately fill out batch records and supporting documentation.
  • Follow SOP's and submit revision requests for SOP's according to new methods to optimize processes, as necessary.
  • Washes, sterilizes, and restocks lab glassware.
  • Performs clerical work related to laboratory activities such as Word processing, record keeping, data collection, and filing.
  • Possess an understanding of scientific measurement, methods of measurement, and units of measurement.
  • Maintain material safety data sheets for all department chemicals and products.
  • Maintain strict inventory records of all plant materials, chemicals, and equipment used in the laboratory and document production by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.

What You Bring (Qualifications)

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Ability to acquire and maintain a Facility Agent Card through the State.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of laboratory and/or related hands-on experience.
  • Ability to troubleshoot process or equipment failures.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with chemical and laboratory safety.
  • Able to work independently and within team environments to accomplish tasks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong computer skills, ideally with experience using Windows-based PC programs.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
