OVERVIEW: The Craftsperson Jr. in the Golf Course Maintenance Department at Boca West Country Club provides essential support in the upkeep and enhancement of the club's four luxurious golf courses. Assisting skilled craftspersons and maintenance staff, this role helps execute routine repairs, landscape improvements, and installation projects to ensure the courses remain pristine, aesthetically stunning, and operationally sound, delivering an exceptional experience for our members and guests.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support in Course Maintenance & Improvement
  • Assist with routine maintenance tasks such as planting, irrigation, and landscape enhancements on the golf courses.
  • Support in installing, repairing, and maintaining course features, signage, and fixtures.
  • Help with small carpentry, plumbing, or electrical tasks related to course infrastructure.

Project Assistance
  • Prepare work areas, including gathering tools, materials, and setting up safety barriers.
  • Assist senior craftspersons with small-scale projects, renovations, and landscaping efforts.
  • Follow instructions from supervisors to ensure quality and safety standards.

Tools & Equipment Care
  • Maintain and organize tools, machinery, and equipment used for course maintenance.
  • Support in cleaning and inspecting equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  • Report any equipment issues or safety concerns promptly.

Safety & Environmental Compliance
  • Follow all safety protocols, including proper handling of tools, chemicals, and equipment.
  • Use appropriate personal protective equipment at all times.
  • Support environmentally sustainable practices on the courses.

Team Collaboration
  • Work closely with the maintenance team to complete projects efficiently.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth operations.
  • Support the department's efforts to uphold Boca West's reputation for excellence

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Basic knowledge of landscaping, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, or groundskeeping preferred.
  • Willingness to learn and develop skills under supervision.
  • Dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform manual labor.
