Job description

Shape The Signature Golf Experience In Phoenix
At Arizona Grand Resort & Spa, golf is more than a tee time-it's an essential part of a guest's escape. Set against the dramatic Sonoran landscape at the base of South Mountain Preserve, our resort invites guests to experience Phoenix at its most memorable: blue skies, desert vistas, warm hospitality, and a course day that feels effortlessly exceptional.
We're looking for a dynamic, hands-on leader to set the tone for every round. This is an opportunity for a hospitality-minded golf professional to lead from the front, inspire a high-performing team, and turn daily operations into seamless, personalized guest experiences. From the first cart staged at sunrise to the final guest farewell, you'll bring energy, precision, and genuine care to one of Phoenix's premier resort environments.
Working in close partnership with the Director of Golf and Golf Operations & Sales Manager, you'll help translate ambitious department goals into polished execution, loyal guests, and meaningful revenue growth.
What You'll Lead
  • Direct daily Golf Shop, Outside Service, Starter, Ranger, and Beverage Cart operations, ensuring the right people are in the right place at the right time.
  • Serve as a highly visible leader on the operation floor, setting a confident, welcoming standard for associates and guests alike.
  • Oversee the full guest journey-from arrival and check-in through pace of play, on-course service, and departure-anticipating needs before they become requests.
  • Monitor tee sheet activity, staffing levels, weather conditions, pace of play, and operational flow; make smart, timely adjustments that keep the day moving beautifully.
  • Coach, train, schedule, and develop associates while contributing to recruiting, onboarding, performance feedback, and a culture of accountability.
  • Ensure carts, practice areas, staging areas, the Golf Shop, and all guest-facing spaces are immaculate, safe, well stocked, and ready to reflect four-diamond resort standards.
  • Build strong communication across Golf Shop, Outside Service, Starters, Rangers, Beverage Cart Associates, Golf Course Maintenance, and resort partners.
  • Coordinate golf reservations, groups, outings of up to 24 players, tournaments, client site visits, and event execution, including pairings, scorecards, cart assignments, signage, scoring, and post-event documentation.
  • Support thoughtful revenue generation through tee sheet optimization, retail, club rentals, resort offerings, and recommendations that add real value to the guest's day.
  • Process transactions with precision; balance cash banks, reconcile daily activity, post charges, support inventory controls, and maintain accurate administrative records.
  • Build lasting relationships with resort guests, repeat players, tournament organizers, and fellow associates through poised, personal, solutions-oriented hospitality.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, departmental procedures, safety requirements, and equipment-use standards.
Why This Is A Standout Opportunity
Phoenix is a city built for momentum-and its golf culture is no exception. Here, the season is long, the scenery is unmistakable, and every day brings a new mix of resort guests, local players, group business, and special events. This role offers the chance to make a visible impact in a destination resort where the expectations are elevated and the work is never routine.
You'll be empowered to make decisions, solve in the moment, develop talent, and create the kind of details guests remember long after they leave the desert.
What You'll Bring
Education And Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in hospitality, business, recreation management, or a related field preferred.
  • At least three years of progressive experience in golf operations, hospitality, or resort operations.
  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
  • Experience in a high-volume golf or resort environment, along with tournament or group-outing experience, is strongly preferred.
  • A valid, current driver's license with a clean driving record; periodic license checks will be conducted.
Skills That Set You Apart
  • Exceptional guest-service instincts and polished interpersonal communication skills.
  • The ability to lead with calm authority in a fast-moving, highly visible environment.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills.
  • Working knowledge of golf operations software, point-of-sale systems, tee sheet management, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • The operational judgment to read demand patterns and adjust staffing, service, and workflow accordingly.
  • Financial confidence with cash handling, payroll, scheduling, revenue reconciliation, and inventory support.
  • A proven ability to coach, motivate, and develop an engaged team.
The Presence We Value
  • Uncompromising integrity and sound professional judgment.
  • Clear, thoughtful verbal and written communication in English.
  • A welcoming, composed, and polished presence appropriate to a four-diamond resort.
  • A collaborative spirit, a sharp eye for detail, and the drive to make every day better than the last.
Work Environment And Schedule
  • This is a full-time, exempt position.
  • Hours vary with business needs and will generally fall between 4:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.
  • Reliable attendance is essential to delivering the exceptional service Arizona Grand Resort & Spa is known for.
  • This role works outdoors and requires the ability to perform effectively through changing and adverse weather conditions-including the distinctive heat of a Phoenix summer.

Bring your golf operations expertise, your hospitality instincts, and your leadership presence to a setting where every round has the potential to become a resort highlight.
The Arizona Grand Resort & Spa's leaders and associates believe each guest should be treated with respect and professionalism. We create a genuine experience, enticing our guests to return again and again. In order to be successful at The Arizona Grand Resort & Spa, associates must share both our Purpose (Making Space for Genuine Hospitality) and Pillars (Hands On & Heartfelt, Sincere & Focused, Collaborative & Curious, and Conscientious). This includes possessing and demonstrating a high level of courtesy and respect for both internal and external guests. Our fun, friendly and enthusiastic associates treat every guest as if they were our only guest. A true customer focus is essential to success with our property.
