Job description

Greet guests, set up and/or closing of the course, starting golfers from the first tee and keeping golfers informed of rules and regulations. Keeping pace of play on the course up to standard.
DUTIES:

  • Keep order, ensure prompt tee off, and maintain the flow of golfers as they prepare to play the course.
  • Pick up litter around the first tee, putting green, and pro shop.
  • Check all ball washers; fill with water/solution if needed.
  • Rove the course throughout your shift. Be available to as many golfers as possible.
  • Know all course rules and enforce them.
  • Record and report all complaints to the Head Golf Professional.
  • Inform any golfer who damages private property that they are liable for restitution.
  • See that play moves along steadily, asking slow golfers if faster golfers may play through.
  • Periodically check water coolers and fill if needed.
  • Empty garbage cans when needed.
  • Pick up any litter on the course.
  • Complete accident/incident reports for all accidents on course.
  • Provide excellent customer service - display a positive and professional attitude at all times.
  • Work as a team player with co-workers and in conjunction with other departments.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS
  • General knowledge of the game of golf.
  • Must have a valid Drivers License.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Must be willing and available to work weekends and holidays.
  • Gold Privileges.
  • Ability to drive a golf cart.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Must be able to relate to other people in a professional manner.
  • Ability to understand the rules of golf.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Walking: while picking up trash and coolers around golf course.
  • Talking/Hearing: to communicate with staff and public.
  • Stooping: to pick up litter.
  • Crouching: to pick up litter.
  • Seeing: to drive ranger's cart; to retrieve supplies and equipment.
  • Lifting: up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to work inside and outside in different weather conditions.
