What are golf services?

Golf services refer to the variety of support roles and offerings provided at golf courses, clubs, and resorts to enhance players' experiences. These services can include managing tee times, assisting with golf carts, providing equipment rentals, organizing tournaments, maintaining practice facilities, and delivering excellent customer service to members and guests. Golf services staff are essential for ensuring that golfers have a smooth, enjoyable, and memorable experience on and off the course.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in Golf Services, and why are they important?

To thrive in Golf Services, you need knowledge of golf operations, customer service experience, and often a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with tee time management systems, point-of-sale (POS) software, and golf cart maintenance tools is typically required. Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude help create a welcoming environment for guests and ensure smooth daily operations. These skills and qualities are important because they enhance the customer experience, support team efficiency, and uphold the reputation of the golf facility.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals working in Golf Services, and how can they be addressed?

Professionals in Golf Services often manage multiple responsibilities, such as coordinating tee times, providing customer service, and maintaining equipment, which can lead to busy periods and multitasking challenges, especially during tournaments or peak seasons. Effective communication and strong organizational skills are essential to manage guest expectations and ensure smooth operations. Collaborating closely with groundskeepers, golf pros, and event staff helps address issues quickly and deliver a high-quality experience for guests. Staying proactive and adaptable is key to overcoming these challenges and succeeding in this dynamic environment.

Job description

Golf Services Associate | Intown Golf Club | Raleigh, NC ($16.00 - $18.00 / hour + Premium Benefits & Perks Available)

Be the face of the ultimate member experience. At Intown Golf Club (IGC), we are rewriting the script for private social clubs and luxury lifestyle brands. We are currently seeking an energetic, hospitality-driven Golf Services Associate to join our local operations team. If you are a team player who loves the game of golf, thrives in a high-end service environment, and wants a role with a premium organization that values your work life balance, your next chapter starts here.

What You'll Do:

  • First-Class Hospitality: Manage the bag drop and assist members and guests with their golf clubs, warmly directing them to their simulators, putting greens, locker rooms, or fitness facilities.

  • Clubhouse Operations: Maintain the pristine presentation of the putting green and all common outdoor/indoor areas, assisting the service and golf professional staff with quick facility upkeep between member groups.

  • Club Support: Step in to assist with golf shop duties, manage member locker rooms, and ensure an elite standard of cleanliness and service throughout the entire facility.

  • Team Alignment: Work collaboratively across departments to uphold IGC's core values and ensure a seamless, world-class club visit for every guest.

What You Bring:

  • The Background: Previous clubhouse, golf course, or premium hospitality/customer service experience is preferred, but a natural passion for elevated hospitality is key.

  • The Skills: Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with a welcoming, professional, and approachable demeanor.

  • The Flexibility: Availability to work flexible hours, including days, nights, and weekend shifts to support club operations.

The IGC Team Perks:

  • Competitive Wages: Stable $16.00 - $18.00/hour pay bracket with opportunities for professional growth.

  • Benefits: Comprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance plans available.

  • Modern Wellness: 24/7, no-cost Teladoc services covering Mental Health Counseling, Physical Therapy, and Dermatology.

  • True Balance: Paid Time Off (PTO), employee discounts, and a positive, supportive team culture.
