Job description

We're hiring part-time seasonal Guest Service Attendants at Jackson Park GC! We're looking for energetic, people-friendly team players who love the outdoors and take pride in delivering a top-notch experience for every golfer. No golf background? No problem - a great attitude, a willingness to be coached, and a passion for hospitality are all you need. As an Outside Service Attendant, you'll be a key part of daily golf operations, helping ensure every round runs smoothly from the first tee to the final putt.
Role Responsibilities
Starter Duties
• Greet golfers on the first tee with a warm, welcoming attitude and verify tee time reservations
• Manage pace of play by briefing groups on course etiquette and expected round times
• Communicate with the pro shop and ranger staff to ensure smooth tee sheet flow
• Address guest questions about course rules, local rules, and layout
Ranger Duties
• Monitor pace of play throughout the course and assist groups falling behind
• Patrol the course by cart to ensure golf etiquette and safety standards are upheld
• Provide helpful and respectful guidance to golfers regarding pace and course policies
• Communicate on-course issues or incidents to management promptly
Cart Attendant Duties
• Greet arriving guests, assist with unloading clubs, and stage carts for departure
• Maintain the cart fleet - clean, fuel/charge, inspect, and stage carts daily
• Assist guests with club cleaning and bag storage upon completing their round
• Return and organize pull carts and rental equipment after each use
Golf Operations Support
• Support the pro shop team with daily operational tasks as directed by management
• Assist with setup and breakdown for tournaments, outings, leagues, and special events
• Communicate guest feedback and on-course conditions to the golf operations team
• Coordinate with all departments to deliver a seamless guest experience
Facility Cleanliness & Upkeep
• Maintain cleanliness of the golf shop, cart barn, bag drop area, restrooms on course, restrooms in golf shop, and surrounding grounds
• Regularly clean and sanitize carts, benches, ball washers, and common touch points
• Empty trash receptacles throughout the course and facility as needed
• Ensure the bag drop, putting green area, and practice facilities are tidy and presentable
• Report maintenance or safety concerns to the appropriate staff
Qualifications & Requirements
Age Requirement: Applicants must be 17 years of age or older to apply.
• Experience in golf, outdoor recreation, or hospitality is preferred but not required - we train the right people
• Must be a people person - friendly, approachable, and enthusiastic about guest service
• Coachable and eager to learn; receptive to feedback and willing to grow with the team
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Comfortable standing, walking, and being on the move throughout the shift
• Reliable, punctual, and dependable - the course counts on you
• Basic communication skills; ability to interact positively with guests and team members
• Valid driver's license or ability to safely operate a golf cart preferred
Schedule & Availability
This is a seasonal, part-time position. Candidates must have a flexible schedule and be available for any of the following:
• Opening shifts (early morning start - the course waits for no one!)
• Closing shifts (evening close and cart barn shutdown)
• Weekends (Saturday & Sunday - our busiest days)
• Holidays and peak season dates
Season typically runs Spring through November. Hours will vary based on course operations and demand.
