The Pool Grounds is solely responsible for the cleanliness of the pool's grounds and immediate surrounding area which includes handrails steps and mats. As well as the safety and upkeep of the entire pools area. This includes all handrails, bridges, creeks, signage, steps, chairs, tables, umbrellas, and any other guest-impacting item. They will also be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of their equipment. This includes pressure washers, hoses, spray guns, lights, pumps, personal protective equipment, and any other items required to complete their work.

Requirements

Core Responsibilities

  • Comply with all OSHA safety regulations and resort safety policies at all times.
  • Perform daily upkeep, cleaning, and maintenance of all geothermal pools to ensure a safe, clean, and inviting guest experience.
  • Test and record pool water temperatures daily and report any irregularities.
  • Maintain the overall appearance and cleanliness of pool areas, contributing positively to guest experience and resort presentation.
  • Collect, organize, and transport used towels from pool and surrounding areas.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of supplies and materials necessary to perform daily duties effectively.
  • Properly store, clean, and maintain all pool cleaning tools and equipment to support a safe and organized work environment.
  • Assist with general cleanliness and upkeep throughout the resort grounds as needed.
  • Identify and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly to management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies

  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Reliable attendance in accordance with established scheduling guidelines.
  • Flexibility to work varying schedules, including weekends and holidays, based on resort operational needs.
  • Ability to stay focused, manage time effectively, and complete assignments accurately despite frequent interruptions.
  • Basic arithmetic skills for completing timecards, inventory counts, and temperature logs.
  • Ability to understand and efficiently operate basic computer systems or mobile devices for documentation and reporting.
  • Ability to maintain positive working relationships with team members while upholding staff and guest confidentiality.
  • Customer-service mindset with attention to detail and guest impact. 

Physical and Environmental Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, twist, and stretch to perform cleaning and maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to safely operate a golf cart, resort vehicle, trailers, pressure washers, and pool cleaning equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to approximately 75 pounds using proper lifting techniques.
  • Ability to push or pull heavy carts up to approximately 100 pounds and lift trash containers up to approximately 60 pounds.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including accurately completing daily logs and paperwork.
  • Physical abilities including grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, pulling, pushing, listening, hearing, and visual acuity.
