Job description

I. Position

Groundskeeper

II. Related Titles

Landscaper, Golf Course Laborer;

III. Job Summary (Essential Functions)

Maintain golf course and landscaping around the course, clubhouse and other club facilities, including parking lots.

IV. Job Tasks (Additional Responsibilities)

  • Trims trees; removes cuttings.
  • Maintains landscape beds around clubhouse and club grounds.
  • Rakes and blows leaves.
  • Prepares and lays sod.
  • Rakes bunkers.
  • Loads and unloads materials.
  • Repairs and maintains driving range tees.
  • Cleans equipment used in practice area.
  • Operates walk-behind equipment.
  • Aerifies and spikes greens.
  • Helps with drainage projects.
  • Empties garbage cans.
  • Attends staff meetings.
  • Performs other appropriate tasks assigned by the maintenance foreman.

V. Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

VI. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are may vary each week. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 6:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Monday to Thursday 6:45am to 11:45am Friday and 6:45am to 9:45am Saturday or Sunday. Working some holidays is expected.

VII. Required Education and Experience

1. High School Diploma a plus.

2. 2 or more years of experience in golf course maintenance operations skills a plus.
