Position Summary

Hermitage Country Club, one of Central Virginia’s premier private country clubs, is seeking a highly motivated, service-oriented professional to join our Golf Operations team as Golf Operations Outside Manager.

Home to two outstanding 18-hole championship golf courses and a vibrant membership of more than 1,300 families, Hermitage Country Club is dedicated to delivering an exceptional golf experience through outstanding facilities, first-class service, and a team committed to excellence.

Position Summary

The Outside Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily outside golf operations while ensuring the highest level of member and guest service. This individual will lead and develop the Outside Services team, maintain operational standards, and ensure all golf operations are conducted efficiently and professionally.

This position reports directly to the First Assistant Golf Professional and serves as an integral member of the Golf Operations management team.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversee all daily outside golf operations, including bag drop, cart staging, bag storage, and practice facility operations.
  • Supervise the presentation, cleanliness, and maintenance of the golf cart fleet, including preventive maintenance schedules, detailing, battery maintenance, and fleet rotation.
  • Manage all driving range operations, including range ball collection and cleaning, target placement, practice facility setup, water stations, club cleaning stations, and daily presentation.
  • Ensure completion of daily operational checklists and maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and organization throughout all outside service areas.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, train, schedule, and supervise the Outside Services Staff and Starters.
  • Foster a culture of professionalism by ensuring staff appearance, communication, and radio etiquette meet club expectations.
  • Maintain and Collaborate with First Assistant on ensuring adequate inventories of golf operational supplies including scorecards, pencils, tees, towels, ball markers, and related materials.
  • Coordinate and assist with tournaments, member events, and special golf functions.
  • Deliver exceptional member and guest service by creating a welcoming environment and recognizing members by name whenever possible.
  • Work closely with the Golf Professional Staff to continually improve operational efficiency and the overall member experience.
