Job description

Enjoy a predictable Monday-Friday schedule and a great team environment. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Golf Cart Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both mechanical and electrical systems, with a passion for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining golf carts and other low-speed electric vehicles. This role is crucial to ensuring our fleet and customer vehicles are safe, reliable, and perform at their peak.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnosis and Troubleshooting: Accurately diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, including but not limited to, motor and controller problems, battery and charging system failures, and steering and suspension issues.

  • Mechanical Repair: Perform a wide range of mechanical repairs, such as brake system service, suspension component replacement, steering linkage repair, and axle maintenance.

  • Electrical Systems: Expertise in troubleshooting and repairing complex electrical systems. This includes wiring harness repair, motor and controller installation, and diagnostic testing of batteries and charging systems.

  • Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including tire rotation, fluid checks, battery terminal cleaning, and general inspections to identify potential problems before they escalate.

  • Customization and Upgrades: Install and configure aftermarket accessories and upgrades, such as lift kits, light kits, sound systems, and performance controllers.

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all repairs, parts used, and time spent on each job.

  • Cleanliness: Keep a clean, safe and organized workspace along with the surrounding shop area.

  • Customer Service: Occasionally interact with customers to explain technical issues, repair options, and provide estimates.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a technician, with a strong emphasis on golf carts, ATVs, or similar small engine vehicles.

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical manuals.

  • Strong knowledge of DC electrical systems and components (e.g., solenoids, controllers, motors).

  • Familiarity with various golf cart brands (e.g. EZ-GO, Yamaha).

  • Experience with diagnostic tools and multimeters.

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certification or vocational training is a plus.

  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.

  • Ability to lift heavy objects.

  • Must be attentive to detail

  • Must be energetic, friendly and work with a quick pace

  • Good manual dexterity and visual acuity.

  • Must have your own tools (air and electric).

  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
