POSITION SUMMARY

Canyon Oaks Country Club is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual to join our team as a 1st Assistant Golf Professional. This individual will be responsible for assisting in all facets of the golf operations, supporting the Head Golf Professional in providing exceptional service to our members and guests. The ideal candidate will be a passionate golfer, possess strong communication skills, and have a professional attitude toward customer service and the game of golf.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED
    • Must partner with management to promote and operate facility in a way to drive revenue.
    • 1-2 years golf industry experience
    • Leadership skills; the ability to lead people
    • Strong customer orientation
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
    • Management; the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
    • Basic computer proficiency and skills
    • PGA apprentice or member preferred
    • Municipal, Private, Semi-Private golf course experience
    • High Volume Golf Facility Experience
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Golf Operations Support:
    • Assist with the daily operations of the golf course, ensuring the smooth functioning of the golf shop, tee times, and member experiences.
    • Assisting in club tournaments and other tournament outings.
    • Manage tee sheet reservations and help facilitate the efficient flow of play.
  • Customer Service:
    • Provide exemplary customer service to members and guests, helping to foster a welcoming and friendly atmosphere.
    • Handle member inquiries, special requests, and concerns in a professional manner.
    • Lead golf clinics and lessons, providing both group and private instruction for members of all skill levels.
  • Golf Shop Operations:
    • Assist with inventory management and product merchandising in the golf shop.
    • Perform sales transactions, promoting merchandise, and assisting members with equipment selection.
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked golf shop.
  • Tournament Support:
    • Assist with the planning, setup, and execution of club tournaments, events, and outings.
    • Proficiently use Golf Genius software to handle event registration, scoring, and other tournament-related tasks.
    • Help ensure a seamless tournament experience for members, handling logistics and addressing any concerns promptly.
  • Staff Supervision and Training:
    • Assist the Head Golf Professional in managing and supervising golf shop and outside service staff.
    • Provide guidance and training to other assistant professionals and golf shop employees to enhance performance and customer service.
  • Golf Course Management:
    • Work alongside course management to ensure proper maintenance and care of the golf course.
    • Monitor the pace of play and ensure adherence to course rules and etiquette.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS

    • PGA/LPGA Member preferred. Enrolled in PGA/LPGA Curriculum preferred, or seeking to enter PGA/LPGA Program.
    • Previous experience in a golf role, preferably as an Assistant Golf Professional.
    • Strong knowledge of golf operations, including course management, golf instruction, tournament operations, and merchandising.
    • Proficient in Golf Genius tournament software (or willingness to learn quickly).
    • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
    • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
    • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and some evenings as required.
    • A passion for the game of golf and a commitment to fostering a positive member experience
