Glynlea Country Club is excited to announce an exceptional careeropportunity for anis hiring Golf Outside Operations Team Members at our new state-of-the-art golf course, scheduled to open in August 2025!
Glynlea Country Club at Wylder is located on the Treasure Coast, in Port St. Lucie, one of the fastest growing cities in Florida. The Club will feature a signature 18-hole golf course designed by Jim Furyk, a 17-time PGA Tour champion, to provide a blend of challenge, tranquility, and playability. Plans for the complete golf experience include a best-in-class Golf Shop, practice areas to include a large driving range, short game complex, and practice putting greens. The Country Club will also feature a fitness facility, a resort-style pool, dining options and more. This gated community will offer an unprecedented combination of exclusive amenities and recreation activities to include lakeside recreation, parks, and miles of nature trails.

Job purpose
Provide optimal customer service to Members and Guests. Attempt to anticipate and fulfill customer needs in a variety of responsibilities as assigned which may include work in Cart Barn, Valet, Starting and/or Course Play (Ranger). Enforces Dress Code Policy.
Duties and responsibilities
  • Treat all members, guests, and employees with respect. Maintain friendly appearance; greet Members and Guests by name and with a smile.
  • Ensure clothing is clean, pressed, and in good condition and overall attire and appearance meets dress code guidelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area.
  • Keep Supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance.
  • Notify management if replacement is needed.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working environment, with continual emphasis on promoting employee health and safety.
  • Assist in training colleagues in proper safety techniques.

Practice Range - duties include:
  • Set stations with balls as instructed by Outside Services Supervisor.
  • Attend range throughout the day maintaining cleanliness.
  • Send members to putting green five minutes prior to tee time.
  • Clean golf clubs.
  • Assist members with carrying clubs from range to cart.
  • Pick up and break down range.

Cart Barn - sample tasks include:
  • Stage golf carts with golf bags.
  • Maintain staging area, driving range, and practice area set-up.
  • Clean golf clubs, receive members at end of round, record finish time and report it to the Golf Shop.
  • Clean and maintain golf carts and cart barn area.
  • Carry out starting and marshal duties.

Valet - sample tasks include:
  • Bring customer golf bags to golf cart staging area.
  • Park vehicles in designated valet parking areas and retrieves vehicles on request.
  • Load and unload golf bags in/out of vehicles.

Starter - sample tasks include:
  • Review a prepared list of golf course rules.
  • Inform Members of any unusual conditions that exist on the course.
  • Communicate with other Outside Service Staff to ensure that all players tee off at their scheduled times.
  • Record Fee Structure and Transportation.
  • Submit completed Tee Sheet to Golf Shop.

Ranger - sample tasks include:
  • Monitor all play on the golf course, with special attention to the area of pace play
  • Recommend possible solutions to customers concerning on-course problems, especially pace of play.
  • Report golf course play situation to the golf shop staff at regular intervals.
  • Repair ball marks and fix divots as needed.
  • Check water and ice stations and restock supplies (to include ice) as needed.
  • Deliver messages to customers on the golf course.

Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of typical golf course procedures.
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to physically lift and carry golf balls and range ball cases.
  • Ability to operate golf carts.
  • Present a positive, professional image.
  • Must be self-motivated and customer service oriented.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Reliable and predictable attendance.
  • Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions; skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.

Working conditions
Work is primarily outdoors. Potential exposure to sharp and rapid equipment movement, sharp utensils, harmful chemicals and/or being exposed to flying golf balls.

Physical requirements
Good organizational and verbal skills. Ability to use logical and rational thinking to resolve issues. Ability to perform basic mathematical skills, monitors and develops subordinates, visually monitor the operation areas, write and read member communication.
Must have the ability to perform moderate physical work and may be required to lift up to 50 lbs., up to 30 lbs. frequently. Perform activities such as bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing, reaching, standing, pushing, lifting and grasping for up to 4 hours without sitting. Ability to consistently lift, carry and load adaptive and other equipment that may weigh 30 or more pounds, and sustain aerobic activity for 20 consecutive minutes.
Please be advised that all work that requires the use of a ladder more than 8 ft. long must be reviewed by Hampton Golf's Club Maintenance person. Following an assessment of the situation, a determination will be made as to whether a maintenance team member or subcontractors will perform the necessary maintenance task. No other staff member is authorized to climb to heights exceeding 8 ft. and/or perform such maintenance. In addition, personnel are prohibited from entering facility attics, walking on the roof of buildings and/or from using scaffolding.
Use the following safety precautions when using an 8ft. ladder:
  • Correct placement of the ladder. The safest angle for a straight ladder is to ensure it is placed on-fourth the distance from the base to the point of support. "A" frame ladders naturally comply.
  • Ensure the ladder is placed on a firm level surface, and do not place the ladder near a doorway.
  • Ensure there are non-skid shoes on the ladder.
  • If using a medal ladder, be sure that it is not near electrical wires.
  • One person on a ladder at one time, and ensure another staff member is holding the ladder in position.
  • Never overreach.
