LOCATION: Aspetuck Valley Country Club, Weston, CT
DEPARTMENT: Golf Operations
JOB TITLE: Golf Shop Attendant / Summer Intern
REPORTS TO: Golf Professional
COMPENSATION: Hourly Compensation
BENEFITS: Meals
POSITION OBJECTIVES:
This position is responsible for creating an atmosphere of service in the Golf Shop to members and their guests.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to execute each essential job function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions and/or satisfy the productivity, performance or qualification standards for the position.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Daily interaction with members, guests and staff
  • Provide on floor sales assistance for members and guests
  • Help create effective communication and marketing for Golf Shop to Club members
  • Facilitate and coordinate merchandise/gifts for special events
  • Merchandise all clothing on shop floor
  • Attend to the shop in a manner consistent with expectations from the club

INCIDENTAL DUTIES

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
  • Ability to multitask, managing phone and member in person sales
  • Ability to merchandise golf shop in first class manner

  • Excellent customer service and ability to sell and attend to member needs

Requirements
JOB QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
The following describes the general qualifications and physical, sensory and mental abilities normally associated with performing the essential functions of this position.
Education and Experience:
  • Previous experience in the Golf Industry - a plus
  • Bachelors Degree Preferred

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:
  • Computer literacy
  • Basic Bookkeeping

Language and Communication Skills:
  • Ability to communicate in a professional and courteous way with members and staff
  • Strong Interpersonal skills

Physical, sensory and motor demands:
  • Ability to be on feet for up to 8 hours per day
  • Ability to lift merchandise boxes (up to 10 lbs)
