Job description

New Albany Country Club is seeking a friendly and knowledgeable Golf Starter/Ranger to join our team on a part-time, hourly basis for the 2025 golf season.  As a Golf Starter/Ranger, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a smooth flow of play on our golf course. This individual contributor role is perfect for someone who is passionate about golf and enjoys interacting with members and guests.
Compensation & Benefits:
This position offers a competitive hourly rate of $12 to $13 per hour, paid biweekly.  This position offers golf privileges and free employee meals.
Responsibilities:

  • Greet members and guests in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Provide information and assistance to golfers, including rules and course information.
  • Manage tee times and ensure timely starts for golfers.
  • Monitor pace of play and help maintain a steady pace on the course.
  • Assist in all facets of the golf operation when needed, including but not limited to assisting guests upon arrival and departure, cleaning carts, emptying on-course trash cans, and conducting upkeep of on-course restrooms.
  • Enforce course rules and regulations.
  • Report any maintenance issues on the course.
  • Provide excellent customer service and respond to member and guest requests.
  • Maintain a clean and organized starting area.                                                                                                                                                                     

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of golf rules and course etiquette.
  • Previous customer service experience preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, late nights, and weekends.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Work Attire:

  • Khaki slacks or skirts worn with black belts, club-issued golf shirts, club-issued hats (optional), and black or white athletic shoes
  •  No visible logos other than the NACC club logo are permitted.
