Golf Course Turf Labourer

MaraHills Golf Resort

Location: Sicamous, BC

Department: Turf Maintenance

Reports To: Turf Maintenance Supervisor

Classification: Full Time / Part Time Seasonal

(must be available to work any shift including early mornings, weekends, and holidays)

Compensation: $20 per hour, based on suitability and experience

Situated amidst picturesque mountainous landscapes and lush greens, our golf course is a haven for golf enthusiasts seeking an unparalleled playing experience. We are committed to preserving the natural beauty of our surroundings while providing exceptional service to our members and guests.

We are seeking a hardworking and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Golf Course Turf Labourer. As a vital member of our grounds maintenance crew, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the overall health and aesthetics of our golf course. If you are passionate about the outdoors, enjoy physical work, and take pride in your attention to detail, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of golf course grounds, including mowing, edging, and trimming grass

Operate a variety of hand and power tools, such as lawn mowers, trimmers, and blowers, in a safe and efficient manner

Operate machinery such as mowers, utility vehicles and other turf equipment in a safe and efficient manner

Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as aerating, fertilizing, and watering turf areas

Assist with landscaping projects, including planting, mulching, and weeding flower beds and shrubbery

Maintain cleanliness and organization of equipment and work areas

Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment

Collaborate with other members of the turf maintenance team to complete tasks and achieve department goals

Perform other duties as assigned by the Turf Maintenance Supervisor

Qualifications:

Previous experience in grounds maintenance or landscaping is preferred, but not required

Strong work ethic and willingness to perform physically demanding tasks in various climate conditions including extreme heat and steady rain and cold weather

Ability to operate lawn care equipment and power tools safely and effectively

Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work

Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team

Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from the golf course

WHMIS Training will be provided

Company Health & Safety training is mandatory and will be provided
