IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Maintenance Manager
DIRECTION OF OTHERS: None
NATURE OF WORK: General maintenance functions, associated with grounds, building, and street maintenance.
2026 SEASONAL TEMPORARY POSITIONS
Approximate dates of employment - August 2026 - November 2026
Golf Maintenance will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of golf course maintenance.
Parks Maintenance will be responsible for mowing, maintaining athletic fields, downtown streets and lots, weed trimming, garbage and assisting with projects.
Facilities - Government Buildings Maintenance will be responsible for maintaining the West Hills Campus and helping in parks department when needed.
Duties / Responsibilities
WORK PERFORMED/AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
I. Perform turf care and floral display maintenance functions.
II. Perform custodial functions at public facilities.
III. Maintain athletic fields and other athletic/recreational use facilities.
IV. Assist in street and sidewalk maintenance.
V. Assist in forestry practices.
VI. Assist in other duties when requested.
VII. Report any vehicle or equipment damage to your supervisor.
VIII. Report any personal injury or accident to your supervisor.
IX. Answer questions of the general public when in the field, or direct public to the proper employee.
X. Perform related work as assigned.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Minimum Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age. Must hold a valid class D driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in the use of turf care equipment, athletic field maintenance, routine custodial functions for buildings, and general grounds maintenance.
Hours of Work/Physical and Mental Demands
WORKING HOURS AND CONDITIONS
2026 Seasonal/Temporary Position. Hours vary, up to 40 hours/week, Monday - Friday. Some weekend work may be required.
In compliance with the Americans With Disabilities Act the following represents the Physical and Environmental Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk on uneven and rough terrain as well as paved and unpaved trails, use hands and arms to handle and manipulate objects, tools, or controls; and operate foot controls on equipment. The employee frequently is required to stand. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, and hear. When training others in equipment operation the employee is frequently exposed to bouncing, jostling, twisting, and turning of the upper body. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally must lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
