Hiring Range:$17.00 - $18.00

Hours: Monday - Friday 5:30am - 1:30pm
Saturday or Sunday 5:30am - 8:30am

Must be available March through November



JOB SUMMARY

Under direction from Head Greenskeeper, performs routine golf course maintenance, repairs and construction.


JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Mow, aerate, grade, seed, sod, water, rake and police greens, tees, fairways and rough.
  • Repair and replace pipe on sprinkler system at golf course and driving range.
  • Operate mowers, sod cutters, chain saws, hand and power tools and all other small engine powered and mechanical equipment for mowing, maintaining and renovation of the golf course and driving range.
  • Prepare and clean beds, plants, trims, prunes, mulches, waters, weeds, stakes, fertilizes, rakes, shovels, digs, spreads wood chips, back fills and levels soil to complete and maintain grounds and horticultural projects.
  • Load, unload and deliver equipment and supplies, as needed.
  • Shovel, snow blow, broom and salt to remove ice and snow.
  • Help clean, adjust and maintain mowers, golf carts, tools and equipment.
  • Clean work site when projects are completed.
  • Attend work on a regular basis.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Additional functions may be essential.
  • Ability to use discretion and independence in work.
  • Perform the job safely and in compliance with district policies, procedures, work and safety rules.
  • Be familiar with the safe operation of any equipment necessary in accomplishing required tasks.


SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS

  • Sunday through Saturday, up to 40 hours a week, with work hours designated by the Head Greenskeeper.
  • Weekend and holiday scheduling may be required.
  • General work area is outdoors and employee is exposed to extreme weather conditions, including extreme cold, snow, rain and ice.
  • Employee will also be exposed to chemicals (i.e., fertilizer, pesticides, weed killers, fungicides).
  • Exposure to noise distractions from employees or equipment operation in adjacent work areas.
  • Exposure to heights and confined spaces.
  • Infrequent exposure to cleaning materials.
  • Manual dexterity required for frequent manipulation of trade tools.
  • Subject to modified/flexible work schedule.
  • Physical agility to maintain mobility from site to site.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to lift and move over 50 pounds with assistance.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Knowledge and skill to operate most all mechanical equipment.
  • Good knowledge of pertinent safety precautions.
  • Ability to maintain positive and effective working relationships with other employees.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Experience in landscaping or golf course maintenance and construction preferred.
