Job description

Job Overview

Responsible for all equipment maintenance and repairs of all golf course and non-guest carrying vehicles.  Responsible for making major and minor repairs on a variety of gasoline, diesel and electric powered equipment.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Schedule and perform appropriate preventative maintenance work
  • Perform routine functions of maintenance and repairs of golf course/project equipment, tractors, riding mowers, hand mowers, and all other maintenance equipment
  • Keep all mowing equipment operable and properly sharpened
  • Keep service records on all equipment and major repairs to facilitate historical evaluations
  • Maintain shop in neat, orderly condition
  • Work with Superintendent and Golf Maintenance Crew in training and safety of equipment with entire staff
  • Maintain appropriate inventory control
  • Stay current with industry trends and training
  • Responsible for oil, gasoline, and diesel inventories and fuel facility.  Make sure orders are received, correct, and accounted for

Education and Experience

  • High school degree or equivalent – Required
  • Minimum one year experience as head mechanic or shop manager of golf course operation – Required
  • Additional two years minimum for general maintenance of equipment, engines, diesel and gas cycle engines
  • General understanding of golf course maintenance operations
  • Valid driver’s license
