Job description

Deerfield Golf Club in Newark, DE is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a seasonal part-time Greenskeeper! We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization. As part of Troon, you will contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.

This is a seasonal position with an expected duration of six months or less.

Compensation: $17.00 - $20.00 BOE

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must be highly organized, efficient and detail oriented
  • Must possess the ability to design, coordinate and maintain landscaping on the golf course
  • Must possess the ability to operate all tools and equipment related to golf course maintenance
  • Skilled in seeding, fertilizing, mulching and general ground preparation for restoration and renovation
  • Must be dependable
Responsibilities:
  • Maintains clean and organized work areas on the golf course and maintenance facility
  • Mows greens, approaches, fairways, rough, tees and other areas
  • Waters tees, greens and fairways; operates irrigation heads in dry areas needing additional water
  • Repairs the irrigation system, pipes and irrigation heads as necessary
  • Grades and prepares soil base, lays sod and seeds greens, tees and fairways
  • Trims and prunes hedges and shrubbery; cleans flower beds
  • Applies pesticides and fertilizer to the golf course
  • Performs related duties as assigned by supervisor or manager
