Senior designers or those working on large projects can earn higher salaries, and many also receive bonuses or profit sharing. Strong knowledge of landscape architecture and design software can enhance earning potential.

GOLF+

Job description

Reports to:ย  CEO

Manages:ย  Product Marketing Manager (with the team growing over time)

Compensation:ย  Competitive market cash + equity

ย  About GOLF+

GOLF+ is building the leading platform for off-course golf. What began as the premier VR golf experience is now evolving into a connected ecosystem spanning VR, mixed reality, and simulator golf, serving millions of golfers worldwide.

Since our launch, we've had over 2 million downloads and nearly 5 billion shots hit in the game. We are the official VR partner of the PGA TOUR, following investment from strategic partners including Rory McIlroy, Jordan Spieth, Ben Crenshaw, Tom Brady, Steph Curry, and Mike Trout. We're moving fast and expanding, and this is an exciting time to join us on our journey to shape the future of off-course golf.

In 2026, our focus is expansion: launching GOLF+ Putting and GOLF+ Sim, while continuing to invest in the long-term VR vision. This role is central to making those launches successful and to establishing GOLF+ as a credible, differentiated leader across the broader off-course golf ecosystem.

ย  Why This Role Exists

Most golfers don't think they need GOLF+ yet. The real job is changing that.

We're creating a new category, and that isn't won by advertising a product - it's won by helping golfers see GOLF+ as part of how they play, prepare, practice, improve, compete, and stay connected to the game. That takes product proof, trusted voices, cultural relevance, and disciplined execution across the entire marketing function. Owning that is the job.

ย  The Role

We're hiring a Head of Marketing to own how golfers discover, trust, and fall in love with GOLF+. You'll report directly to the CEO and define how marketing accelerates the next chapter of GOLF+. You'll establish the vision for the marketing organization, shape how our brand shows up across every golfer touchpoint, and build the team, capabilities, and operating rhythm needed to support our growth across VR, mixed reality, and simulator. You'll inherit a strong Product Marketing Manager as your first direct report and partner in bringing that vision to life.

We're looking for a complete marketer, not a single-channel specialist. This person should think in audience, narrative, and brand as fluently as they think in funnels and dashboards.ย  This is a player-coach role by design: you'll do the work yourself now and build the team deliberately as we scale. It is not a strategy-only seat, and it is not a performance-marketing role.

ย  What You'll Own

You own the entire marketing function. The areas below are yours to sequence and prioritize -ย  one integrated mandate, not a checklist of separate jobs to staff against on day one.

  • Brand, belief, and category creation. Define how GOLF+ shows up in the world, including our positioning, voice, and narrative. Build belief among golfers who don't yet think they need us through cultural relevance, earned attention, and trust.

  • Team and leadership. Lead and develop the marketing team, starting with the Product Marketing Manager, and build the function deliberately over the next 12 to 18 months.

  • Product marketing and go-to-market. Own positioning and messaging, and make our launches land. Answer "why GOLF+, why now, why VR, why sim" before anyone asks which campaign and make GOLF+'s first impression as a new entrant in simulator golf land with impact.

  • Partnerships, creators, and community. Shape the strategy and direction for how we leverage creators, ambassadors, institutional partners such as the PGA TOUR, PGA of America, and Meta, and golfer-to-golfer word of mouth. Treat ambassadors as relationships, not media buys, in order to establish legitimacy and fuel growth.

  • Growth, performance, and measurement. Orchestrate growth across channels and own the outcome. Performance and lifecycle marketing reports to you, but it should be a lever you keep honest through targets, channel mix, CAC, and LTV, not your center of gravity. Track the metrics that matter and keep leadership clear on what happened, what we learned, and what comes next.

ย  What We're Looking For

Required

  • A deep, genuine love of golf and a real understanding of the golf customer. This is a non-negotiable - you live and breathe golf.

  • A complete, well-rounded marketer who has led across brand, go-to-market, partnerships, and growth - not a single-channel specialist.

  • Content-first marketer with a proven ability to build trust, demand, and brand affinity through compelling storytelling. You understand that the best marketing earns attention through exceptional content, creators, community, and authentic relationships, not just paid distribution.

  • Takes full ownership of outcomes, has a real appetite to lead, and is relentless from concept through execution. We value this far more than years of management experience.

  • A great communicator with experience running meetings, aligning stakeholders, and clearly conveying plans, roadmaps, and directives that keep the business aligned.

  • A player-coach, comfortable operating lean, ready to do the work yourself now and build the team deliberately.

  • Analytical and performance-literate. You own targets, read the dashboards, and keep CAC honest, without making the funnel your center of gravity.

  • Fluent with AI tools as a force multiplier across research, content, and workflow.

  • Based in Austin, TX, working in person with the team.

Nice to Have

  • Existing relationships in golf, golf media, or the golf creator world.

  • Familiarity with how the golf industry works (OEMs, teaching pros, club fitting, launch monitors).

  • Experience launching a product into a skeptical or new-to-category audience.

  • Experience in gaming, VR, consumer tech, sports, or creator-driven platforms.

  • Brand-building at an early-stage or high-growth company.

This Role Is Not

  • A narrow performance or paid-marketing role.

  • A purely strategic or oversight-only seat - it's hands-on.

  • A role for someone who needs an established playbook, a big team, or a big budget handed to them.

  • A slow, heavily process-driven environment.

Why Join GOLF+
  • Own marketing for a company defining an entirely new category in golf, at the intersection of tech, sports, and gaming.

  • Real ownership of a pivotal phase of growth, reporting directly to the CEO.

  • Build alongside a team backed by the PGA TOUR and golf-and-sports icons including Rory McIlroy, Jordan Spieth, Ben Crenshaw, Tom Brady, Steph Curry, and Mike Trout.

  • A role that grows with you in scope, impact, and leadership responsibility.

ย  Compensation & Benefits

In our commitment to attracting top talent, we recognize the importance of offering competitive compensation packages, which will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location.

GOLF+ also cares about you and your overall well-being, and that's why we offer a comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees that includes healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan with employer match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, well-being benefits, unlimited paid time off, paid parental leave, several paid holidays, and a golf stipend, among others.

GOLF+ is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees, and we do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic.

We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses and identifying potential inconsistencies or verification signals in application materials based on available information. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans.
