Job description

Eagle Landing Golf Club, located in Orange Park, FL, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a Head Golf Professional! We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization. As part of Troon, you'll contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.
General Description:
Oversees and maintains all facets of the golf operation at Eagle Landing. Provides professional support, direction, management, training and leadership to all golf associates. Promotes and nurtures member and guest relations to enhance the quality of the golf experience. Responsible for the day-to-day golf operations.
Essential Duties
Creates a customer service oriented atmosphere that promotes the game of golf and meets the needs of the members and guests at Eagle Landing. Ensures that associates provide a high level of customer service both inside and outside. Oversees daily activities for golf operations including, but not limited to check in procedures, tee sheet management, tournaments organization and execution, rules, practice facility operations, player service operations, golf cart fleet, and player improvement and instruction programs and camps.
OPERATIONS
  • Management of EZLInks Tee Times software with awareness to maximizing utilization and ADR. Utilizes Jonas club software as needed.
  • Works with General Manager to create a competitive daily rate matrix and recommends seasonal and annual cost adjustments
  • Works closely with the Superintendent and the Food and Beverage Manager on a daily basis to ensure timely communication and to establish a good working relationship.
  • Monitors business volume forecast and plans accordingly in areas of manpower, productivity, costs and other expenses.
  • Maintains a safe work environment and upholds Troon standards for all areas within the golf operations.
  • Maintains and manages a quality golf cart fleet and follows PM program and communicates repair needs in a timely manner.
  • Creates a monthly letter to the membership and residents of Eagle Landing about all things golf operations for the upcoming month.
  • Work closely with and manage communications for club's Golf Committee. Collect and provide detailed notes of all quarterly meetings.

TOURNAMENTS
  • Extensive knowledge in Golf Genius software and tournament operations with education and familiarity in a large variety of formats. Mentor and provide opportunities to Assistants and other team members to learn and grow their tournament management acumen.
  • Club representative for tournament sales and inquiries, and tournament agreement/contract management.
  • With the assistance of Assistant Golf Pros plan, organize, and execute member and outside golf tournaments, interclub, and weekly leagues with a focus on consistency and the player' experience.
  • Manages the club's GHIN program and works with the club's handicap committee to establish reasonable and industry consistent guidelines for all players.

MEMBERSHIP
  • Creates a culture grounded in respect, genuine relationships, and a shared passion for the game of golf. Builds strong, lasting connections with members through open communication, meaningful engagement, creative programming, and regular interaction on the golf course.
  • Works closely with Marketing and Communications manager and General Manager to achieve goals in membership sales by strategic initiatives in marketing and targeted programming.
  • Manages membership setup, renewals, and separation in Jonas club software and advises Administration office on billing needs and inquiries.
    • Performs bi-annual audit of membership categories for accuracy.

INSTRUCTION
  • Manage the club's player development programs to include, but not limited to weekly clinics, Junior Golf Camps, on-course instruction, ladies group instruction.
  • Establish new initiatives for club in player instruction with PGA Jr. League, First Tee of North Florida, PGA HOPE, or other programs to enhance the community profile of Eagle Landing and provide additional golfing opportunities to the community.
  • Provide individual and group golf lessons to members and the public.
  • Manage CDD approved golf instructors and their contractual requirements.
  • Provide guidance to assistant golf pros and summer golf camp coaches in standardized lesson planning, lesson activities and games.

MERCHANDISE and FINANCIAL MGMT
  • Oversees the Merchandise program including purchasing, receiving, and inventory requirements creating a creative and presentable Pro Shop with a blend of desirable hard and soft goods.
  • Monthly inventory management.
  • Schedules equipment Demo days throughout the year.
  • Establish and manage a golf club grip replacement program.
  • Manage merchandise program to achieve budget goals.
  • Assists General Manager in the development of annual budget and Golf Operation goals and objectives. Helps to control expenses in relation to revenues.

ADMINISTRATION
  • Prepares work schedules and assigns associates areas of

Education/Experience:
  • Minimum of three years as 1st Assistant Golf Professional or Head Golf Professional
  • Minimum of two years directly responsible for tournament operations and setup.
  • Bachelor's degree (BA) from four-year college or university, or three to five years related experience in golf operations management.
  • PGA / LPGA Active Membership

Physical Demands:

Compensation:
  • Base Salary: $72,500 annually
  • Annual Performance Bonus: Eligible to earn up to 5% of base salary based on individual and organizational performance metrics
  • Golf Instruction Compensation: 85% commission on golf instruction revenue generated by the employee
  • Professional Dues and Subscriptions: Reimbursement of 100% of approved professional dues, memberships, and subscriptions related to the position
