Buckle up! Your next great opportunity is here! Voyago is now hiring School Bus Drivers in Markham and surrounding area for the 2026/2027 school year!

Join a team that keeps students moving safely every day, enjoy a supportive work environment, and start a role where every route makes a difference.

We are currently seeking Part-Time Drivers and Route Support Drivers in the Markham area. Part-Time Drivers will be assigned to open routes, while Route Support Drivers will assist with temporary vacancies and support future route opportunities.

Your role:
  • Safely transport students within your community to and from school, ensuring a reliable and positive experience each day
  • Prioritize student safety at all times, including during boarding, transit, and exiting the vehicle
  • Conduct thorough pre and post trip inspections to ensure the bus remains in proper and safe operating condition
  • Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of the bus, including assisting with fueling and basic upkeep to present a well kept, professional vehicle
  • Accurately complete daily Hours of Service reports and maintain required documentation in compliance with company and regulatory standards
  • Immediately report any mechanical issues or concerns affecting the safe operation of the vehicle
  • Address and report any student behaviour issues in a timely and professional manner, following company procedures
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with safety practices, policies, and regulations
  • Demonstrate professionalism, patience, and care while fostering a safe and respectful environment for all passengers
  • This is a unionized position

Requirements

Your profile:
  • You are safety focused
  • You hold a valid minimum full G class drivers license for at least 1 year
    • If you don’t currently hold a B or E Class licence, Voyago has you covered, full training is provided at no cost to you!
  • You are 21 years of age or over
  • You are a safe driver with a clean driving record
  • You can obtain a clean criminal record search with vulnerable sector screening
  • You have a sound knowledge of Markham and surrounding areas
  • You have the ability to work independently
  • You are available for the required shifts:
    • Monday to Friday approximitly 6:00am to 9:00am AND 1:00pm to 4:00pm (Start and end times will vary depening on the specific detials of each route)
  • You possess solid communication skills
  • You enjoy being around children of all ages
  • You are comfortable driving in all types of weather and road conditions
  • You are comfortable driving large vehicles
  • You have basic computer skills and can easily navigate Google Maps or a GPS unit

Route Support Drivers play an essential role that keep our operations moving and our students safe!

  • As a Route Support Driver, you’ll step in wherever you’re needed most, whether covering for a driver who’s away or supporting routes during busy periods. You’re the go-to professional who ensures students get to school safely in the morning and home again at the end of the day. This role is critical to maintaining reliable service, keeping routes on schedule, and making sure no student is ever left behind!
  • This position is perfect for drivers who enjoy variety and thrive in a fast-paced environment. You’ll have the opportunity to operate a range of vehicles, including big yellow buses, mini yellow buses, wheelchair-accessible buses, and minivans while supporting routes across St. Thomas, London, Oxford, and Middlesex County
  • No two days are the same. You’ll experience different routes, work with diverse teams, and connect with communities across the region. It’s a great way to build your skills, gain exposure, and stay engaged in meaningful work
  • Route Support Drivers can expect between 12 to 25 hours per week, with additional opportunities to pick up extra hours by assisting with operational needs such as vehicle moves and switch outs

Please note, due to the scheduling and changes to school routes throughout the school year, applicants who are students themselves will not be considered.

Hourly Rate:

    • Mini-Yellow, Wheelchair-Accessible Routes – $24.50/hour with a 4 hour minimum per day!
    • Base Rate (for those times spent working, but not driving a school route) – $20.00/hour
