Job description

Company Description
We take care of our employees, and they take care of our customers!
Become a member of a global community! The international logistics industry is an integral piece of the global trade puzzle; we make the world go round. Global supply chain management is what we do, and at the heart of Expeditors you will find professionalism, leadership, and a friendly environment, all of which foster an innovative, customer service-based approach to logistics. Expeditors is a global logistics company headquartered in Seattle, Washington. As a Fortune 500 company, we employ over 19,000 trained professionals in a worldwide network of over 350+ locations across six continents. Expeditors satisfies the increasingly sophisticated needs of international trade through customized solutions and seamless, integrated information systems.
Our Mission
We recruit, train, and retain the very best logistics and technical experts the world over. We love to promote from within - more than 50 percent of our employees have been at Expeditors for five years or more. Our high retention rate is influenced by a unique compensation program for positions that are more than just jobs - they're chances to grow, do what you love and build a career with us!
Job Description
We are creating a first-of-its-kind position in our DFW District - a Distribution Account Manager built exclusively to grow Expeditors' presence in the distribution segment. This is not a role where you inherit a steady account list and maintain the status quo. This is a role where you build something.
DFW is one of the largest and most dynamic logistics markets in North America. Distribution companies - from regional fulfillment operations to multi-site national supply chain players - are actively searching for a freight forwarding partner who truly understands their world. We believe the right person in this seat can change the trajectory of an entire customer vertical for our district.
As the Distribution Account Manager, your day-to-day ownership includes:
Account Management & Retention
  • Own a dedicated portfolio of distribution accounts as their primary Expeditors relationship owner
  • Build multi-level relationships within each account - from logistics coordinators to VP-level supply chain leaders
  • Lead regular Business Reviews, presenting performance insights and identifying growth opportunities
  • Develop and maintain account strategies aligned to each customer's supply chain goals and business priorities

Business Development
  • Build and manage a healthy pipeline of new distribution prospects in the DFW market
  • Identify target accounts through territory mapping, market research, and industry networking
  • Collaborate with the Sales team and Distribution Product Manager on proposals, RFPs, and new business transitions
  • Represent Expeditors as the district's distribution subject matter expert at customer sites and industry events

Distribution Expertise
  • Serve as the go-to resource for warehousing, fulfillment, last-mile, inventory management, and reverse logistics solutions
  • Stay current on market trends, competitive intelligence, and distribution-specific rate environments
  • Guide customers through Expeditors' systems and technology to maximize operational value

Financial Performance
  • Drive revenue and gross profit growth from your portfolio in line with district budget targets
  • Monitor account health, identify at-risk revenue, and develop proactive plans to protect and grow your book
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, account documentation, and SOPs for all assigned accounts

Qualifications
We are looking for someone who combines commercial ambition with genuine logistics expertise. You are the right fit if you:
  • Bring 3-5+ years of experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain - with meaningful exposure to distribution, warehousing, or 3PL operations
  • Are a natural relationship-builder who can connect credibly with a warehouse floor supervisor and a C-suite executive in the same afternoon
  • Are commercially driven - you are energized by building a pipeline and winning new business, not just maintaining existing accounts
  • Communicate with clarity and confidence in writing, presentations, and face-to-face customer conversations
  • Are organized, self-directed, and thrive in a role with significant ownership and accountability
  • Hold a university degree or equivalent business qualification
  • Are proficient in MS Office and CRM tools; familiarity with freight forwarding systems is a plus

Additional Information
Expeditors offers excellent benefits:
  • Paid Vacation, Holiday, Sick Time
  • Health Plan: Medical
  • Life Insurance
  • Employee Stock Purchase Plan
  • Training and Personnel Development Program
  • Growth opportunities within the company
  • Employee Referral Program Bonus
