Job description

JOB SUMMARY
Assist the logistics supervisor in ensuring the logistics operations is running effectively and efficiently and in compliance to all set standards, ensuring optimal utilization of operating costs, service quality and profit achievement.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Inspect all work equipment, report problems to the Logistics Supervisor for immediate interim and contingent actions to enable smooth flow of operations or avoid downtime. 
  • Check all outgoing stocks to ensure that they are in good condition and make sure that the stocks are correct based on the picklist submitted by Customer Service and Order Management Assistant (CSOM). 
  • Monitor the utilization of warehouse space  Inspect shrink wrapped pallets prior to transfer to loading area for delivery 
  • Participate/assist in the inventory count weekly and monthly together with the Inventory Control Assistant 
  • Process Sales Orders and review product completeness with the document (sales invoice) 
  • Prepare Sales Invoices based on the materials and finished goods allocated. 
  • Follow, model and influence others to strictly comply to all company policies, workplace safety standards, food safety, supplies and inventory management, First In-First Out (FIFO), proper storage, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), Good Housekeeping Practices or 5S, Clean As You Go (CAYGo), Cleanliness and Sanitation, Allergen, etc. 
  • Assist the Logistics Supervisor/Inventory Control Assistant in identifying variances, analyzing/investigating causes, and applying the necessary corrective actions as agreed to improve inventory accuracy. 
  • Provide feedback to Logistics Supervisor on areas or opportunities in logistics that will enhance productivity, efficiency and effectiveness. 
  • Perform minor repair and maintenance of simple (minor) equipment. 
  • Assign/delegate tasks to the right team members to ensure smooth production flow. 
  • Operate standup and/or seat-down forklift and electric pallet jack. 
  • Train/coach new and existing workforce on all standard operating procedures in logistics, including allocating finished goods, packaging and loading; promoting and supporting the management team towards high employee engagement at all times. 
  • Build, enhance or maintain good and professional relations and image when interacting with personnel at all levels and 3rd party vendors/partners.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Prepare Job Work order to Maintenance team and follow up completion when necessary. 
  • Attend required training and certification programs necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities and achievement of unit’s goals. 
  • Initiate coordination and communication with team members and management team to support achievement of all goals and objectives. 
  • Perform other job/task or production related assignments as assigned by immediate supervisor in order to develop one’s self and/or share one’s expertise resulting to support work efficiencies & productivity. 
  • Perform administrative duties as necessary (i.e. invoicing, emails, answering phones, making copies, printing, filing, etc.). 
  • May be assigned a project related to area of accountability.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
  • At least High School graduate; Associate degree, preferred or equivalent combination of education & experience in team leadership from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved. 
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a team leader, (school or workplace) a must 
  • Bilingual (i.e. English/Spanish) preferred.
