Job description

Go-Kart Mechanic
This is a full time position.
General schedule: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Driver's license is required.

Under general supervision, The Theme Park Shop Mechanic is responsible for the proper operation of amusement rides during normal and unusual situations of operation. Duties may involve welding, machining, carpentry, repairing electric or mechanical equipment, installing, aligning and balancing new equipment, repairing buildings, floor, or stairs. Monitoring the ride using control panels, observing the ride while in motion, enforcing and communicating all park rules, restrictions, safety guidelines, instructions in accordance with Mt. Olympus's Policies and Procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Theme Park Mechanic will clean and organize the ride area to maintain ride cleanliness, sanitation throughout the day of their shift, including sweeping ride enclosures, cleaning ride structures, seats, routine maintenance, safety inspections, and other miscellaneous duties.
  • They will use hand tools, examine part defects, test, diagnose, inspect, repair, replace, and reassemble parts on the go-karts and roller coasters
  • He/she will respond quickly to situations including power failure, operating system faults or shutdowns, smoke alarms, and guest evacuation
  • The Shop Mechanic will be working around high noise levels resulting from amusement rides and various equipment.
Go-Kart Mechanic Requirements:
  • Must be flexible to work at different ride and/or attraction positions and must be knowledgeable of all workstation requirements and functions.
  • The Shop Mechanic must be willing and able to perform all other job duties and assignments as assigned by management and work effectively independently, as with a group.
  • Must be comfortable with heights
  • Mechanically inclined or repair experience knowledge preferred.
  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends and Holidays.
  • Able to complete basic math calculations.
  • Able to move equipment which would include pushing, pulling, bending, and lifting
  • Able to stand for extended periods, walk, crouch, crawl, kneel, or stoop.
  • Must be self-motivated and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 - 75 pounds.
  • Able to perform work duties outside in varying weather conditions prevalent at the time.
  • Driver's license required
