Job description

Revenue Cycle Medical Billing Payor Verification - Government Payors

Work Location:  Remote on On-Site, United States        

Hourly Compensation: $16

(this position is bonus eligible)

Training Schedule:  Mo–Fr 8am–5pm Central

Post Training Schedule:  4, 10-hr shifts that includes 1 weekend day

or 5, 8-hr shifts Mo-Fr

 

JOB SUMMARY 

The Revenue Cycle Medical Billing Payor Verification for Government Payors works with payors via portals and telephone communications to verify benefits, deductibles, and out-of-pocket amounts for primary, secondary, and tertiary payors. This position uses problem solving and research to resolve coordination of benefits issues.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES 

  • Utilize payor portals or phone calls for benefit verification.
  • Analyze work processes to maximize efficiency.
  • Work to achieve team and departmental goals.
  • Work effectively as a member of a team.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing with payors and patient employers
  • Work uninterrupted while on the clock is a requirement.

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

Required Experience: 

  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in medical billing
  • Prior Payor Verification and/or experience communicating with payors directly
  • Ability to work Independently or as an active member of a team
  • Knowledge and experience of computers and related technology, at an intermediate level
  • Must possess empathetic and professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Office 365

Preferred Experience:

  • Minimum of one (1) year working in a call center environment
  • Minimum of one (1) year working in a customer service position
  • Above average knowledge of Government billing guidelines

Education: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Or, significant relevant work experience
