Reports to: GME Operations Manager / Institutional Coordinator

Department: Office of Graduate Medical Education (GME)

Position Summary:

The Graduate Medical Education (GME) Program coordinator is a key member of the GME education leadership team. Under limited supervision, provides administrative and operational support in assisting the Graduate Medical Education (GME) office in the management of the residency training program.

The GME Program Coordinator coordinates the educational activities of the program for incoming and current residents. Assures program compliance with regulatory agency standards and maintains essential program required documents. The Program Coordinator supports the Program Director in the administration of all aspects of the program, in accordance with Accreditation Council for Medical Education (ACGME) requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of related experience preferred
  • Training Administrators of Graduate Medical Education (TAGME) certification highly considered
  • Skill in operating a PC including use of software packages such as Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat and Outlook, and other online programs.
  • Knowledge of Residency Management Systems (i.e., New Innovations, MedHub)
  • Ability to efficiently and accurately manage multiple tasks and projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of Virtual Conferencing systems: Zoom and Microsoft Teams

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the residency training program.
  • Coordinate and organize program recruitment efforts and the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) process.
  • Monitor the program accreditation requirements to ensure compliance all applicable requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain all required program/resident documentation.
  • Coordinate program/resident onboarding and orientation processes.
  • Serve as the resident liaison to ensure a positive educational experience.
  • Assess and coordinate a wide range of programmatic events and processes, including curricular activities, program letters of agreement, onboarding and graduation, annual Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) program updates and preparing for accreditation site visits.
