Description
The Department of Medicine is soliciting applications for an individual to serve as Director of Programs for the Office of Education in the Department of Medicine. Under the direction of the DOM Vice Chair of Education and the Executive Administrator for Academic Affairs & Administration, the Director of Programs partners closely with stakeholders across the SOM and affiliate hospitals, to coordinate the Department's UME and GME activities. ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:
- Exercises supervisory authority over approximately 20 professional staff and coordinators, ensuring organizational effectiveness, appropriate workload distribution, staff development, and alignment with department curricular priorities.

- Oversee and maintain records of program and trainee GME slots by trainee and hospital to ensure compliance with institutional and healthcare institution expectations.
- Responsible, in partnership with Division Administrators within DOM to support and oversee Education program budgets, including FTE allocations to faculty.
- Design and implement onboarding or standard operating procedure handbooks for coordinators and directors, associate directors, and core faculty for clerkships and GME programs.
- Coordinate and lead regular meetings and workshops for educational staff and faculty to ensure timely communication of updated ACGME and DOM expectations.
- Develop executive-level communication materials for dissemination to trainees, faculty, and key stakeholders to strengthen the professional reputation of the DOM and advocate for the role of education within the department and school, in partnership with program leaders and communications team.
- Organize and maintain records related to accreditation requirements, including ACGME surveys, annual program evaluations, and learner and faculty evaluations portfolios.
- Collaborate with the GME office's Director and Designated Institutional Official on behalf of DOM training programs as necessary.
- Serves as the primary administrative lead for education-related contracts within the DOM Office of Education, including affiliation agreements, educational service agreements, training site agreements, and donor- or grant-supported educational initiatives.
- Collaborates closely with the Emory legal team, contracts office, and institutional partners to ensure all education-related agreements are executed in a timely manner and remain compliant with institutional, regulatory, and healthcare system requirements.
- Serves as a key administrative liaison for education-focused collaborations that span departments, schools, institutions, or external organizations, ensuring alignment with DOM priorities and educational goals.
- Partners with development, communications, and program leadership to support donor-funded education initiatives and to ensure appropriate stewardship, reporting, and operational execution.
- Supports the cultivation of new educational partnerships that advance program growth, innovation, and reputation, in collaboration with departmental and school leadership.
- Support additional curriculum and program development as directed by the Vice Chair of Education
