ROLE SUMMARY:

The General Manager of Devils Backbone Basecampis responsible forthe overall performance, guest experience, and day-to-day leadership of the brewery's flagship campus. This role provides strategic and operational oversight for all guest-facing programs, including restaurant operations, retail, private events, and recurring programming.
Reporting to the Director of Hospitality, the GM is accountable for financial performance, team development, operational excellence, and delivering exceptional guest experiences. The role partners closely with our Culinary, Marketing, Agritourism, and Brewing departments to execute everything from daily service to large-scale events, ensuring Basecampremainsa premier destination for hospitality in the Blue Ridge mountains.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead all guest-facing operations, ensuring exceptional service, consistent execution, and operational excellence.

  • Recruit, coach, and develop managers and hourly team members while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and hospitality.

  • Establish operating standards andmonitorstaff performance.

  • Serve as the primary operational leader for the Basecamp campus.

  • Own the financial performance of restaurant, retail, and private event operations.

  • Manage multiple departmental P&Ls, labor performance, inventory controls, and operating expenses to achieve financialobjectives.

  • Analyze business trends to helpidentifyopportunities for growth and profitability.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, ora relatedfield preferred.

  • 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in hospitality, restaurants, breweries, hotels, resorts, or destination venues, including multi-department management

  • Demonstrated success managing high-volume hospitality operations with responsibility for multiple revenue centers and departmental P&Ls.

  • Strong financial acumen withexperiencebudgeting, forecasting, labor management, inventory controls, and interpreting key business metrics.

  • Proven ability to recruit, develop, coach, andretainhigh-performing management and hourly teams.

  • Experience planning and executing private events, live entertainment, or destination programming preferred.

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook, with the ability to analyze business performance, build reports, and communicate effectively across departments.

  • Demonstratedproficiencywith Toast POS and 7shiftsscheduling software.
