Deloitte's Investment Management Tax practice offers the opportunity to advise sophisticated clients on complex tax and business matters while building your leadership and strategic expertise.

Work You'll Do

As a Tax Senior, you'll provide tax compliance and advisory services to investment management clients. You'll analyze complex issues, develop and implement solutions aligned with client objectives, and build trusted relationships through high-quality, practical advice.

You'll perform detailed reviews of tax research, partnership workpapers, allocations, and tax filings. You'll coordinate with client contacts to gather information needed to complete tax returns and support accurate, timely delivery.

You'll prepare and lead client meetings focused on compliance, tax planning opportunities, and the tax implications of significant transactions. You'll also train, mentor, and supervise tax professionals at varying experience levels while participating in Deloitte Tax LLP and sector-specific training.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or other business-related field
  • 3+ years' experience providing tax planning services or preparing and reviewing client work papers and income tax returns
  • One of the following active accreditations obtained, in process, or must be willing and able to obtain:
    • Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA
    • If not CPA eligible:
      • Licensed attorney
      • Enrolled Agent
      • Certifications:
        • Chartered Financial Advisor (CFA)
        • Certified Financial Planner (CFP) 
  • Experience with investment management or partnership taxation
  • Experience with Subchapter K, partnership allocation methodologies, and the tax compliance process for investment partnerships
  • Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model that requires US Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2 - 3 days per week
  • Ability to travel up to 25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available

Preferred:

  • Advanced degree such as Masters of Tax, JD, and/or LLM
  • Previous Big 4 experience or large CPA firm experience
  • Knowledge of fund accounting and general ledger accounting
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; strong listening, interpersonal, and facilitation skills

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $74,925 to $153,000.
