Job Summary
The Instructor of Humanities & Global Studies provides instruction in interdisciplinary humanities and global studies subject areas. The faculty member may teach a variety of courses related to humanities, anthropology, and/or cultural geography. This position also supports the continued development of regional, world, and international studies content and provides stewardship for anchor courses connected to the Honors Scholars Program, including HUM 190 and ANTH 290.
Schoolcraft is a comprehensive, open-door, community-based college. The mission of the College is to provide a transformational learning experience designed to increase the capacity of individuals and groups to achieve intellectual, social, and economic goals.
Required Qualifications
  1. Master's degree in Anthropology, Human Geography, Humanities, Global Studies, International Studies, Cultural Studies, or a very closely related field.
  2. Experience teaching in college-level Honors programs
  3. Evidence of effective communication and organizational skills.
  4. Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students.

Preferred Qualifications
  1. Teaching experience at the community college level.
  2. Experience with interdisciplinary curriculum development.
  3. Experience supporting honors, experiential, intercultural, or globally-focused learning initiatives.
  4. Experience with online, hybrid, or technology-enhanced instruction.
  5. Interest in developing future coursework or programming related to regional, global, or international studies.
