Job Summary:

The Lead Shipping and Receiving Clerk manages the flow of goods by verifying shipments, reconciling orders, and coordinating complex logistics. This role is critical in ensuring timely deliveries through meticulous record-keeping, expert equipment operation, and strict adherence to safety and ISO standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Logistics & Shipping

  • Operations: Manage labeling and documents such as packing list.
  • Process Oversight: Assign daily tasks, prioritize inbound flow, and validate all receipts.
  • Issue Resolution: Document discrepancies and ensure the timely staging of materials.
  • Forklift Operation: Safely operate reach trucks, sit-downs, or pallet jacks to load/unload trailers and organize high-bay racking.

Receiving & Documentation

  • Verification: Physically match incoming items against packing lists for 100% accuracy.
  • ERP Management: Log all inventory transactions into the Global Shop (ERP) system.
  • Audit Compliance: Confirm PO numbers on all documentation are consistent and correct.
  • AP Support: Partner with Accounts Payable to match packing lists with invoices for seamless payment processing.

Inventory & Leadership

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify process gaps and participate in projects to reduce errors.
  • Acting Authority: Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for system transactions.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Proven experience in a shipping/distribution center environment.
  • Technical Skills: Strong ERP/WMS skills (Global Shop experience is a plus).
  • Physical Ability: * Ability to stand/walk for 8-10 hours per day on hard surfaces.
    • Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs independently (up to 75 lbs with assistance).
    • Ability to bend, stoop, reach overhead, and operate material handling equipment (pallet jacks/forklifts).
