In this role, you will be part of the DC UPS agile team. As a Product Manager within the team you will be responsible for profitable growth of your product line driving and contributing return on investment for ABB's Power Protection business. You will be part of the DC UPS strategy to market covering specific UPS product lines ensuring ABB has a full understanding of market requirements and transforming those requirements into offer specifications and development activities.

You will also showcase your expertise by performing various offer lifecycle activities a: supporting development, value propositions developments, driving successful launches, managing product maintenance, pricing, and profitability-while meeting aggressive cost-per-kW targets and sustainability commitments.

The role is a Global role with no intention for relocation, the designated locations are where Critical Power have manufacturing units and hence are of a preference, although all candidates are welcome to apply and will be considered.

The work model for the role is: Hybrid and the preferred location of hire is Europe or US


Your role and responsibilities
  • Understanding and following global standards, market and customer requirements, and their impact on the current offer portfolio.
  • Conducting valuation of market size and trends, competitor benchmarking (including reverse-costing), and identifying offering gaps to strengthen ABB's market standing.
  • Collaborate within the team and other Electrification teams in regards of DC developments and align products with technical standards to ensure a succesful DC UPS development.
  • Managing technical specifications for assigned products and supporting business cases for new developments, cost reduction, and lifecycle transitions.
  • Driving design-to-cost initiatives to achieve low kW targets without compromising quality or compliance.
  • Coordinating IEC/UL certification pathways, sustainability deliverables (EPDs, circularity), and preconfigured solution codes for priority regions.
  • Drive go-to-market activities, including product launches and brand positioning together with other global functions including sales enablement, customer success, training, support, and product expertise where needed.
  • Drive pricing models and be adept at working with templates, thereby achieve target profitability.

Qualifications for the role

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Business Administration (or equivalent).
  • You are highly skilled in Agile methodologies and product management. Understanding of High power / DC technologies within product management are considered an advantage.
  • Ability to demonstrate 5+ years of experience in product management. Gate model experience, stakeholder management and collaboration capabilities together with global functions as Sales, Operations, Service for product success
  • Previous experience with an adjacent topic to DC technologies / products /solutions are nice-to-have
  • Possess advanced knowledge of PLM tools, SAP, and MS Office Suite; familiarity with cost modeling and competitor benchmarking is a plus.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are an advantage for APAC engagement.
  • Ability to travel internationally as required.
