Description
The Market Analysis team is Apple Retail Real Estate’s strategic and quantitative intelligence function - we build the frameworks, tools, and analyses that inform where Apple invests in its 500+ store fleet globally. We combine rigorous measurement with strategic insight to shape how leadership thinks about market opportunity, fleet composition, and capital allocation. We’re actively transforming into an AI-native analytics team - replacing static, report-driven workflows with automated pipelines, AI-assisted analysis, and scalable tooling. This role will be a key part of that shift: building and adopting new tools to modernize ways of working.","responsibilities":"This person will lead retail market intelligence across Apple’s global retail portfolio. You’ll translate macroeconomic conditions, consumer and market dynamics, and the evolving retail landscape into the insight that shapes Apple’s retail investment and expansion decisions.
You lead market-level forecasting, drive country and metro-level performance analysis, and evaluate new store opportunities across AMR, APAC, and EMEIA - serving as the intelligence bridge between Market Analysis and the Real Estate, Finance, and Retail teams.
You’ll conduct strategic analysis directly while also enabling the regional geo analysts who anchor their market work in your intelligence - ensuring rigour and consistency across all regions.
What You’ll Do
Lead country and metro-level coverage and expansion analysis - evaluating market opportunity, competitive dynamics, and consumer economics to inform where Apple grows next
Enable and support regional geo analysts who anchor their market strategies in this intelligence - ensuring rigour, consistency, and shared methodology across AMR, APAC, and EMEIA
Produce market forecasts and scorecards that directly inform real estate prioritisation, capital allocation, and retail strategy
Build and maintain the Metro P&L in partnership with Finance - grounding market analysis in commercial reality
Synthesize macroeconomic conditions, consumer and market dynamics, and retail performance data into clear strategic narratives for senior leadership and cross-functional audiences
Shape the five-year strategic roadmap by delivering the market intelligence that underpins expansion sequencing and capital priorities
Evaluate new store and market opportunities - providing the analytical foundation for investment cases and go/no-go recommendations
Build and use AI-native tools and workflows to modernize how market intelligence is produced, automated, and delivered
Preferred Qualifications
10+ years in market analysis, economic research, or strategy with increasing seniority and scope
Proficiency in Python for data analysis and automation
MBA or equivalent advanced degree
Experience in retail real estate, site selection, or market entry strategy
Familiarity with GIS and spatial analysis tools
Track record of influencing senior investment or expansion decisions through market intelligence
Experience building automated analytics pipelines or AI-powered tools for business intelligence
Cross-functional experience partnering with Finance, Strategy, or Real Estate teams
Minimum Qualifications
8+ years in market analysis, macroeconomic research, or strategy at a major retailer, top-tier consulting firm, investment bank, or technology company
Strong quantitative foundation - proficiency in economic and market modelling, statistical analysis, and working with large, complex datasets from multiple sources
Structured, hypothesis-driven approach to analysis - able to build grounded narratives from incomplete or disparate data
Demonstrated ability to simplify complex issues and deliver content clearly in written, oral, and formal presentation formats for senior and executive audiences
Experience building or actively using AI tools to automate analytical workflows
Proficiency in SQL for data access, manipulation, and validation
Bachelor’s degree
