(50% office and  50% warehouse floor)

Opportunity Snapshot:

Under the direction of the Logistics Manager / DC Supervisor, the Logistics Associate will provide data entry support to the shipping and receiving departments in addition to generating any documentation as requested, in accordance with Company Policy & procedures.

Day in the Life: 

  • Enter purchase order receipts and generate any labels or other documentation as required.
  • Work with Purchasing and Receiving personnel to resolve any discrepancies in purchase order items, quantity, numbers, etc.
  • Process small parcel shipments using web-based shipping programs. Create any labels or documents required and attach to appropriate packages. Generate end-of-day paperwork.
  • Generate Bills of Lading, packing lists, etc. using EIS’s ERP system and/or Carriers web based documentation system. Schedule pick-ups with appropriate carriers.
  • Process shipments in EIS’s ERP system for invoicing, including issuing material and closing out work orders and performing Customer shipment entries to close out shipments. 
  • File shipping & receiving paperwork as required.
  • Track shipments as requested.
  • File and track freight claims from start to finish
  • Set up inventory locations as requested.
  • Perform cycle counting as required
  • Perform accurate quality and quantity checks on all outgoing orders to ensure orders shipped are complete, accurate, and undamaged. Mark the product with identification numbers according to departmental procedures.
  • Perform accurate inventory transfers utilizing the scan guns and identify product I.D. sticker on tag and fill out and consistently follow proper procedures for issuing stock materials.
  • Use a tape measure and apply measurements to processes. Package goods for small parcel/common carrier shipments with the necessary paperwork.
  • Operate power tools safely to pack, crate, or blanket wrap materials for shipment in accordance with the order picklist.
  • Help receiving unload incoming products when requested utilizing forklifts or pallet jacks
  • Help shipping load LTL trucks when requested utilizing forklifts or pallet jacks
  • Move product in or out of the warehouse racking utilizing a forklift
  • Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations. Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.


 

PERSONAL CLOTHING/EQUIPMENT REQUIRED: Requires the use of safety glasses and safety shoes where required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Requires the ability to maintain a forklift operator's license. Requires the ability to operate a forklift truck – training provided.

Qualifications & Knowledge:

  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and two to four years related shipping or distribution experience.  
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude and the ability to work well with others.
  • Demonstrated ability to complete assigned tasks without supervision while troubleshooting and resolving product related issues, necessary tasks or machine / equipment issues.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of computers and Data Processing.
  • Knowledge of shipping documentation requirements for domestic and international transport.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of freight terms, NMFC classifications, and specific carriers service areas and available services.
  • Ability to prepare forms, reports, and routine correspondence.  
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees within the organization as well as with vendors and customers. 
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as shipping reports, bills of lading, invoices, pick lists, and other related documents.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.           
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50-100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles.  The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock; and vibration.
