What is the Director, Strategic Insights responsible for?

Within the Global Client Group (GCG), the Director, Strategic Insights will serve as a strategic thought partner to GCG and firm leadership. This role is responsible for synthesizing firmwide flow trends, product performance, market dynamics, and revenue implications into clear, executive-ready insights.

Sitting at the intersection of distribution, finance, and investor communications, the Director translates complex business drivers into cohesive narratives that inform earnings messaging, strategic planning, and senior leadership decision-making.

The Director will lead a small, high-impact team focused on delivering forward-looking analysis and actionable insights that shape how the firm evaluates and communicates business performance-both internally and externally.

This role is ideal for a candidate with a management consulting or strategy background who excels at navigating ambiguity, synthesizing complex data, and translating analysis into clear, executive-level insights. You will lead an analytics function that connects sales flows, AUM trends, product mix, and market dynamics to revenue outcomes and informed strategic decisions.

Key Mandate

Translate global sales flows, AUM shifts, product mix trends, and market context into clear, data-driven insights and narratives that inform:

  • Quarterly earnings messaging

  • Strategic business decisions

  • Investor and analyst engagement

  • Senior management discussions

How you will add value

Strategic Analytics & Insights

  • Analyze gross and net flows across channels, regions, and asset classes to identify key performance drivers.

  • Evaluate AUM mix shifts and their implications for revenue, margin, and long-term growth.

  • Synthesize internal performance data with external market and competitive context.

  • Identify emerging trends and proactively flag risks and opportunities.

Revenue & Business Modeling

  • Model fee revenue impacts across distribution channels, vehicles, and product types.

  • Assess pricing, mix, and market-driven revenue sensitivities.

  • Partner with Finance to align revenue forecasting assumptions with distribution trends.

  • Support scenario modeling tied to strategic initiatives and market volatility.

Earnings & Investor Messaging

  • Partner closely with Investor Relations to develop earnings materials and supporting analytics.

  • Build narrative frameworks explaining quarterly performance drivers.

  • Anticipate investor and analyst questions and prepare supporting materials.

  • Ensure consistency between underlying business performance and external messaging.

Executive Communication

  • Develop clear, concise presentations for senior management and executive committees.

  • Translate complex analytics into digestible, decision-oriented insights.

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to GCG leadership on performance positioning.

Team Leadership

  • Lead and develop a small team

  • Establish analytical standards, governance, and best practices.

  • Foster a high-performance, insight-driven team culture.

What will help you be successful in this role

  • 7-12 years of experience in asset management, management consulting with exposure to asset management, strategic finance, or related roles.

  • Strong understanding of public-company reporting cadence and earnings processes.

  • Deep familiarity with asset management fee structures across vehicles and channels.

  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex financial and operating data into executive-level narratives.

  • Experience presenting to senior leadership or supporting C-suite decision-making.

Core Competencies

  • Strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen

  • Exceptional analytical and financial modeling skills

  • Clear and compelling communicator (written and verbal)

  • Ability to operate in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments

  • High executive presence and stakeholder management capability

  • Strong cross-functional collaborator

Work Schedule & Location
This role can be based in NYC, Stamford, Boston, Baltimore, San Mateo or Pasadena; and will work a hybrid schedule, combining in-office collaboration with remote work flexibility.
