SPA is seeking a highly motivated and experienced HR Business Partner with a working knowledge of global HR, compensation, and benefits to join our growing team. In this strategic role, you will partner closely with business leaders across the organization to provide comprehensive HR support, including Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), Employee Relations (ER), and traditional HR Business Partner (HRBP) duties. You will also serve as a utility player, taking on special projects and initiatives as needed.
This position is located at our headquarters in Alexandria, VA, with the opportunity for hybrid remote work.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
  • Partner with business leaders across SPA to develop and implement strategic HR initiatives that align with business goals including change management.
  • Provide expert guidance and support on all aspects of the employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to performance management and compensation.
  • Support merger, acquisition, and integration (MA&I) activities across the employee lifecycle, including due diligence, integration planning, and post-merger employee relations.
  • Proactively address and resolve employee relations matters, conducting timely and objective investigations, coaching managers on appropriate corrective actions, identifying workplace trends and risks, and partnering with leadership and legal, as appropriate.
  • Partner with business leaders and HR stakeholders to support domestic and international employee populations
  • Collaborate with internal HR teams and external partners to support immigration, visa, work authorization, and international assignment activities as applicable
  • Develop an understanding of local employment practices and regulatory requirements within supported countries and partner with appropriate internal or external resources to address compliance requirements
  • Partner with the compensation team on salary recommendations, promotions, internal equity reviews, market competitiveness, job leveling, and employee positioning within established salary ranges provide managers with guidance on appropriate application of the organization's compensation philosophy, salary structures, incentive programs and compensations practices
  • Partner with benefits and business leadership to support benefit communications, annual enrollment, employee education, and implementation of new or revised benefit programs support HR integration of mergers and acquisitions, including employee transition activities, compensation and benefit harmonization, policy alignment, onboarding and employee communications
  • Analyze workforce and HR data to identify trends related to turnover, compensation, retention, engagement, workforce demographics, and benefits utilization, and recommend appropriate actions to business and HR leadership
  • Stay up-to-date on HR trends and best practices and implement innovative solutions to improve HR processes.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders on all HR matters.
  • Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources management, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in a progressive HRBP role
  • Proven experience partnering with business leaders to develop and implement strategic HR initiatives
  • Strong understanding of HR processes, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, compensation and benefits, and employee relations
  • Working knowledge of compensation and benefits including knowledge of the ADA accommodation process from an HRBP perspective is a plus
  • Experience with M&A activity from an HR perspective is a plus
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks concurrently
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Proficiency in HRIS and MS Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Pay Range Information
At SPA, we strive to deliver a robust total compensation package that will attract and retain top talent. Elements of the compensation package include competitive base pay and variable compensation opportunities. SPA provides eligible employees with an opportunity to enroll in a variety of benefit programs, generally including health insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance programs, and a number of programs that provide for both paid and unpaid time away from work. The specific programs and options available to any given employee may vary depending on eligibility factors such as geographic location, date of hire, etc. Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only.
